You will do an awesome job Alex!

You are the guy I've been looking up to every since I met you through this site. I took photos yesterday and I even said to Topher, "Look, my back looks like Daywalker's" in some of the photos :) Not quite as great as you, but I'm in pretty awesome shape right now.

You will do great and I look forward to hearing the report and seeing pics!

Robert is in the shower now, our stuff is packed, and we're hitting the road in maybe half an hour? I'm pumped!!!! 8)

So...

Here is my report.

We left on friday and traveled 7 hours and 30 minutes to the place only 380 kilometers away :( Damn traffic jams.

The competition was fun :) The organization was ... erm... mediocre but the atmosphere among the athletes was awesome.
K-oz did a wonderful job as my coach and Dream-TanTM-applier :D

Everything went good, except for the back poses that i messed up :?

I ate a ton of rice, rice wafers, and a whole cake in the process 8) That was the best part

The result was very close, i was tied for the place and we were compared again - maybe better posing with the back poses could have changed the outcome.

I went second - vice-champion. Damn :(

K-oz and i wore the VBB T-shirts all day :) We talked ot many people about veganism and did good promotion and advertising :D I handed out your cards, Rob, and generally showed a good example of a vegan

Below are some shots.

First, my shape backstage:

Biceps: Lat spread:

Most muscular: Front shot:

My arm can look big, too!

Here are pics to give you an impression of the action on stage.
The light was not good, and the pics are inferior to those backstage (where the light wasn't exactly perfect as well).

The winner in front pose:

The second place in front pose:

The winner in back pose:

Second place abs:

Okay, he was not bad. He had advantadges over me, mainly his legs and arms. His middle (abs) were crap, and i think he had no good proportions. But it's okay that he won, we were tied, and he was bulkier, that's waht it's about in BB after all.
Note: on some pics he seems taller and bigger than me, but he was half a head shorter, he just stands nearer to the camera.

Side chest comparison:

Back comparison:

Latspread comparison:

On this pic you see well how tiny my arms are, especially compared to his :(
Image

Last pic: Line up shot where you can see that the winner is really "a bit" bulkier than me.
Image

So, that was it. I hope Robert did a little better :)
Nest time it's figure class for me

And next year i'm gonna return 4kg's heavier!

Oh, here, one last pic - after contest ;)

I guess I see a "slight" difference in "bulkiness" but overall, I'd say you were shortchanged. You had better definition all around. You're incredible, daywalker!

K-oz - you are incredible too - great job with pictures and tan application!

What a great team!! :D

i second what madre said - i think that you were shortchanged too.

i mean, i think that it was close, and he did have a little more mass, but his abs were, as you said, crap (infact non existant - probably all the hormones!), and his general aesthetics were also not good.

you looked great for the contest, and all i can say is that i hope you are more fortunate with the judging at the next one :D

Congrats on the second place!

But, I agree with this:

Overall, I think you just looked better aesthetically, perhaps because you have more definition and a better midsection.

You looked great!

Alex,

Your abs kicked ass - and we all know how much CG loves abs. It's all about the abs, baby  (at least for me). Too bad the judges didnt feel the same way I do. :( That guy's abs were shit.

But, you are right, his arms were a bit bigger. I think that is the only "advantage" he had over you.

You'll get' em next time. For now, congratulations on being second! 8)

Thanks everyone for the feedback :D

Nat :D It's all about the abs  The abs really were his main weakness :)

Jza, i appreciate your opinion :)
I was disappointed, because backstage, when not posing, the guy looked crap. That is the only thing i knew before seeing the pics today at home. You don't see the others standing at your sides. I was sure i was gonna win.
But he was not bad, i can not really say that. He had advantadges, but i had mine. As i said, we had a "play-off" (is that the right word?) after we were tied. He was better when doing the standard poses. He had a wider waist, not a good V-shape, but he was a good athlete, i agree.

Well, i just have to work on my weaknesses now.

And next month it's the figure-class - maybe that will be better...

Wow Alex, you look amazing!
Without a doubt your abs look way better, as do your lats. Much larger. That guy is definitely good competition, but I think you should have had it! (And I don't say that just because I personally think you're awesome. :) The pics prove it)
Congratulations are in order anyway though! Anytime vegan fitness is out there proving what it's all about, we all win!
Time to chow down and kick back now right?
