Well CBS is a station that can be picked up without having cable where spiketv you have to have cable to watch that channel. I would assume that would be a big reason why there were more viewers cause there can be no way people would rather watch Kimbo Slice than Rampage Jackson.

I totally agree, except perhaps many newbies to MMA don't know about Rampage? Anyway, the sport is growing. Let's hope in the right direction this time.

Zuffa screwed up big time not finalizing a deal with CBS. Well this def is a step in the right direction for mma becoming mainstream acceptance. Now hopefully mma fighters eventually will be paid as much as basketball or baseball players. Cause it sure as hell is more entertaining than baseball is. No offense to baseball fans :)

another challenge has been issued to Kimbo Slice, this time from Abu Dhabi champion and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Jeff Monson.

i don't think there is any way Slice can hang with Monson on the ground. so i don't think Gary Shaw will let Slice fight Monson anytime soon.

Damn that would be a great fight. I love Monson! Kimbo would get wrecked!

this Saturday, July 26. it's the return of
SATURDAY NIGHT FIGHTS! LIVE AND FREE ON CBS!

LAWLER VS SMITH II
Ruthless Robbie Lawler vs. Scott Smith rematch
Jake Shields vs Nick The Goat Thompson
Nick Diaz vs Thomas Denny

i look forward to the rematch, because those two were putting on a great fight last time until the eye poke stopped the fight. and i really wanna see Jake Shields fight. he is a top 10 ranked welterweight and regarded as the best welterweight who is not in the UFC.

I am interested in watching the other diaz fight. I enjoy watching nate but seldom see Nick.

Good program on CBS this time! They lost the disco ball, prancing cheerleaders and circus atmosphere and put on a good show. The ladies rocked again . . . Cyborg is a beast! The Lawler fight really delivered! i was also able to turn on Spike after CBSand watch the BJ/SS fight. Doesn't get much better than that!

some things that interested me.

the announcers or rather one of them, referring to anderson silva as the greatest pound for pound fighter in the world as well as the UFC middleweight champ. They did this just before the Lawler fight. Soooo logically I can surmise that anderson can beat up the champ of that fight? So Elitexc dosent have the champ after all, just the best in that limited company, an inferior product to the UFC one?

Dana lets Anderson go to an event that he himself is offering counter programming to.

The continued references to the UFC . Why dont they just offer the UFC more free advertising.

Both diaz brothers are in the lightwieght division, I would like to see that fight.

i thought it was hilarious how Cyborg thought was celebrating a bit prematurely. but she definitely put on a good show. i think the best fight of the evening has to go to Nick Diaz. he will probably have a rematch with KJ Noons soon. maybe on the Oct card of Elite. Kimbo and Gina Carano will be fighting on that card. it looks like it will really be one to check out.
