phillipeb
Hey guys, I was given a raleigh bicycle and in the process of repairing the inner tube i had to use vulcanized glue or something, which made me think wow what products should i use that are vegan in order to fix my bicycles? Potter? tasha? anyone?
sydneyvegan
It can be hard to determine what is vegan and what isn't when it comes to bike maintenance products. Most products are produced in an industrial setting somewhere so it is almost impossible to find out what is in them.Tires contain carbon, this may or may not be from animals.Glues can contain animal by products as well... You can get Citrus based degreasers etc which should be vegan and a lot of lubricants are derived from petrochemicals... Apart from that, just make sure you gloves, shoes, seat etc are animal free, as this is pretty easy to do.
Guest
PEDROS is going all biodegradable very soon and they don't use animal products in any lubes or cleaners. As for tubes...I just buy new ones...patching is a pain in the butt.
Tasha
I'm the same with Potter. But lucky me, I haven't had a flat sense I've been riding. Knock on wood !!!!! To clean my chain I use Bio-Lube. http://www.bio-lube.com/ For a skin lube (not really bike maintenance) Body bike maintenance lets go with that Beljum Budder http://beljumbudder.com/faq.htm
