well the way i hear it, the argument is what stipulates the end of the contract. Randy Couture signed a 2 yr/4 fight contract with UFC. Randy fought only twice. so Dana White states he still owes the UFC 2 more fights before the contract is over. Randy considers the contract over at the end of the 2 years, which is in october. if Randy announces his contract is over and he agrees to fight Fedor, the UFC will serve papers that state he still owes them 2 fights and must fight in the UFC. then that matter will have to be settled in court. which could take months. let's hope it doesn't come to that, because i want to see this fight as much as anyone else.

ugh two more fights equals two more chances to get seriously injured. Not good, Plus isnt there a minumuim amount of time that fighters have to wait between fights in the UFC? That could mean another year and half.

Well crap . . . I know a deal is a deal, but I think that Dana is just being pissy . . . UFC has made so much money in the last few years, that he doesn't need it. He knows that Randy's time is running out . . . I like UFC, but this really sucks!

there is a report that Fedor's next opponent has already been chosen, and it's not Randy Coutre...

BUT... it's Andrei Arlovski! event to happen oct 11th in las vegas.

keep in mind, this is not officially announced on Affliction's site, so we'll have to wait and see. it is a great match up though. also, represantives from Fedor's camp said you can expect him to fight twice before 2008 ends. once in october, then again on new year's eve.

update on Randy Couture.

"Zuffa representatives have responded ... that the fighter still has two outstanding bouts remaining on his agreement. It is their belief that the contract has no time limitation and that it remains functional until Couture fulfills his original four-fight obligation".

doesn't look like it will be settle soon.

apparently Fedor has a broken hand and cannot fight in october. so instead it is going to be Arlovski vs Barnett. winner will be #1 contender and be next in line to fight Fedor. unless Randy can get his contract fiasco straightened out by that time.

I believe that either one of them will be unsuccessful if not dropped by Fedor. Didnt Fedor dismantle barnett already in the bodog fight?

I also believe that we have seen the end of Randy. I feel like this is going to last past his ability to be competitive anymore. I dont think that Randy is going to want to fight and make money for the UFC. I dont think that the UFC and gong to give in to his restructuring demands.

no, that was Matt Lindland who Fedor fought in Bodog. i don't think Fedor has ever fought Barnett, or Arlovski for that matter.

i'm afraid you may be right about Randy. i hope not
