Track Runners/Sprinters?
Hope everyone is having a happy 4th. I've been tossing the idea around in my head of getting into track (I'm sure the Olympics being right around the corner is having an affect on me). That being said, I'm a little lost as to how to get started in it though. I'm in SoCal (north L.A. County), so if anybody knows of any adult leagues I could look into in that area, it would be much appreciated. Just turned 24, 6'1", ~150lbs. Also would like to hear any training tips anyone might have (in particular with regards to how much volume to put in). At this point, I think probably the 400m or 800m might be where I'd fit best. I like the shorter distances, but I think I'm more prone to events where there's a little more of an endurance component than pure speed (emphasis on "a little" lol). Most of my athletic experience is in the weight room or from cycling, but I'm looking for a new avenue to get involved with. Thanks in advance.

the 400 and 800 are sprint events, you just have to be able to sprint the whole time.
there are track clubs everywhere. search google, guarantee there is one close to you.
