Some semblance of progress

I can't really find a great "before" picture, but here's one that you can at least see my arms in:

I'll probably try to take some better pictures at some point, but you can kind of see that I'm starting to get somewhere!

Thanks! I don't really have like a real program, but every other day I do something along the lines of this:

And the days I don't do that, I do some basic core exercises. I've been doing some that I think are like Army exercises that my dad showed me (embarrassing, I know), but a friend of mine showed me some P90X ones that I've been incorporating now, too.

 

Also I've been eating a shitton of hummus and bean burritos!

So I'm at about three weeks now! These pictures are from just after the gym today, so I'm looking a little rough, but look at those muscles!!

Also, if anyone's confused by my post on the 17th saying 2 weeks and then on the 21st saying 3, it's because the pictures in the original post were a few days old by the time I posted them. I'm not messing dates up or anything, I promise!

Right now I'm mostly focusing on just getting to that vague notion of "being in shape." Ideally I'd like to be toned as fuck, not huge or anything (I come from a long line of very small people), but pretty well-defined, at the least. I feel like I'm being very vague, but I guess I actually haven't put that much thought into my end goal yet.

Oh nice! I know next to nothing about fitness and nutrition, hence my starting to peruse this message board, so I wasn't really sure if my size was more of an asset or a liability.

 

My abs haven't been coming along nearly as quickly as I would have expected, but my arms are shaping up way faster than I ever thought they would, so it evens out pretty well.

No, that's not true. If you start now with a diet high in milk and meat, you could easily be 4'8" or even 4'7" by the time you are in your mid 50's.
