Hm... maybe some advice for the guys who think they lose too much size when dieting for a contest:

Do not go low fat! I'd always recommend dropping the carbs instead of the fats!
Also do not avoid saturated fatty acids since that's only gonna make your test-levels drop. You should definitely use some cocnut oil (since this will also act as a fatburner and keep you healthy as well - google it!) and maybe some (organic) palm oil for frying the tofu.

I used the anabolic diet and tried to incorporate as many saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids as possible which really helped me with maintaining size. I ate more fat than protein (about 180-200g of protein and up to 230g of fat daily!) and hardly any carbs (at tmes only 10g).
Worked really well for me! ;)

Glad to hear more about how you did it!

I still find it funny that so many vegans still insist that cutting carbs is not good for fat loss and that there are so many who believe that high carbs are ideal for everyone. Low carb is the only way I find that I have any luck with fat loss, if I eat high carb all I do is gain fat and feel bloated. Again, great work! :D

Wow! Down to 10g carbs! That is amazing! The lowest I have gone is about 50-70 and maintained it for about a week.

How long did you maintain the super low carbs?

Again, great shape! I've never been in that kind of shape before. Excellent work!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong DP, but you did low carb for 4 months right? You can read about it here Robert (translated from the original German) -

Exactly, four months. I only had carbs on weekends, in the last two months or so only one day per week. Worked insanely well for me. I only made the mistake of going a bit to low on the fats at times which cost me prescious muscle mass.

Interesting to read that you have similar experiences, veganessentials! :)

Good idea Rob - I'll do the cooking for you guys and we'll have a great time hanging out!

@Floey: Yeah, that would be awesome. Seriously bro, you did a great job on stage (I watched all of the videos) and I definately think you'll have a huge chance to win next year! Good luck with that. I am still training just for the looks and not 4 competition but maybe that'll change some day - who knows. Until then: keep pumpin that heavy iron! :veganlogo:

I took this photo in Vegan Fitness Week on August.

I think at that point Devil's Plaything looked huge and I would have expected him to be even bigger in competition. Anyway, it's a great thing that people do things like this and this is a huge inspiration for me!
