tuc's results so far (new "before" pic)

Recommended Posts

Here are some pics of my progress. I don't have a training schedule or a nutrition plan and I only used a bench press, a barbell and 2 x 35lbs girya weights for the first 2 months. After that I've also used dumbbells and a curl bar but nothing else.

I'm 184cm tall (approximately 6 feet) and because of it I've always looked very skinny since I'm lightweight, baby .

This is the condition I began with, notice the really skinny arms:

Here's my back after 9 weeks.

And again after 10 weeks.

And the same other way round:

I'm still skinny but at least I'm making a progress.

Also, note the really fancy wallpaper. And the pale skin color, in december 2007 sun shone for a total of 22 hours (I'm not joking!!) and I think I was in the office at least 90 % of that time. Really cloudy and dark here. :/

yeah, arms look great! And back is mostly about posing. Sometimes the way we display our back can make it look better or worse even with the same amount of muscle. It's hard to pose sometimes.

But overall, looking great man!

Keep it up. Glad to hear you're working hard. That is always a great approach for positive results. A lot of people are afraid to work hard (including myself during spurts over the past few years).

Well done.

Thanks for all the positive feedback! I know I have to work more with my back, but things aren't really that miserable that they look like in the first photo, I'm squeezing my shoulders backwards there.

Here's a pic I'm doing exactly the opposite and I think Robert was right, posing really can make a difference. Anyway, now it's been ~ 10 weeks already and I think the progress is still pretty fast.

edit: moved the pic to the first post of this topic

The positive feeling I get from you guys really helps me! Big up!

edit: cropped the pic a bit

thanks BodhiDave and flanders!

I don't really have that much before pics, I added one in the first post but the angle is bad and it cannot be used that well for comparison. Well, it does give some idea of how skinny I was to begin with.

nice job tuc! It's great to see other make such progress. It keeps me motivated and wanting more and more. Definitely your arms and upper back made a major transition. I look forward to watching for more updates as the months go by. I wouldn't worry about the "lean" aspect. You look great and the size is coming on. It is not like you aren't bulking up; your body is definitely changing and getting bigger. I feel like when you just start out, no matter what you do, getting size and mass comes naturally for the first 8 months without any problems whatsoever.

What exercises and their reps are you doing per week to increase arm size? I have puny arms also.

I do a lot of bicep curls and overhead press with dumbbells or a curl bar.

I also do barbell rows with a curl bar and lying tricep extensions with a kettlebell or a dumbbell.

I used to do something like 3-4 sets of 8 reps but now I'm trying to do many moves with 5 x 5 technique. I can already do 5 x 5 bicep curls with a curl bar with ~ 100 lbs.

I also got ~ 175 lbs up from bench press. It's already a cople of lbs more than I weight so at least I'm doing something right.

Oh, and thanks L&G, Zack, Troy and Robert! There's nothing more motivating than getting feedback of some of my very favorite people here! I think this forum has had a huge influence in me and it's all thanks to the wonderful users (and admins too of course )!

PS. As I don't want to bump my progress topic all the time, I'll also use my avatar to keep track of my progress. Hope it doesn't annoy anyone.

OK, it's been almost a month from the last pic I uploaded in this topic. I've gained only a few lbs and my results are a bit better (some problems with my right wrist & shoulder but nothing serious I guess). I think I look a bit larger than before, but some of the muscle I've gained has gone in my legs which are still damn skinny.

Hope you won't be disturbed by me not having shaved my armpits recently.

You look good man. Arms are nice and judging by the current development and shape of your lats, i'd say they have the potential to really stand out as they grow.

When you pose though, keep those arms higher, you let them sag down a little. Lift them up high and parallel to the ground; be proud of what you have, you earned it!

It would help to compare also, if you repost the before pictures side by side next to new pictures taken, to compare.

keep up the good work!

p.s. lovin the hair..

You asked for comparative pics, here you go! Sorry for posting new pics all the time even though I haven't gained like 20lbs every time I post but I'm so damn thrilled to see me grow that I want to share it with you guys since you're the ones who inspired me to start bulking up in the first place and you're the ones who motivate me all the time!

The first one is me a couple of weeks after I started working out. The second is from today.

Here's also a shoulder/bicep pic. I also have a fatty belly from all the eating!

Dude, monster gains, it looks like you put a muscle suit the old body. Chest is popping out and is massive, arms are swol as if they have a permanent pump. Seems like you are a lefty, like me?? Left arm is bigger than the right.

You are the perfect example of what a person should look like when they are trying to gain muscle. I've said it to you before and i'll say it again; if anyone needs to know what's up, I suggest they ask you for advice. This is the result of actually eating and training hard and consistently.

Great job brother, you make me want to hit the gym and lift as hard as I can, thank you for posting progress!!!!!!

Another month, another pic. I'm once again a couple lbs bigger than before and a lot stronger.

Brinin' on the forearm veins:

...and DAMN I look so small in the first pics in this thread. So tiny.

TUC!!!!!!!!!!!!! My main man and one of my favorite bbers on this forum bc you bring the pain and really know how to eat.

What can I say, Those forearms are looking sick. For a second there I though you were doing pullups but I realize it's an EZ Curl bar and your curling.

I feel like we need to start a forearm photo thread. Seeing everyone's on this forum has really got me craving massive swol veiny forearms. I may just have to start one and crop out all the pics to highlight the forearms of those who thit em hard and post.

Your chest is solid, the whole package bro. Your progress and determination is a huge motivation for me and has to be for anyone who passes by vbbf. Way to represent.

Robert, I can't help but be reminded of I.N.D.E.P.E.N.D.E.N.T. everytime you write A.W.E.S.O.M.E. on a post. I wonder if that is where the influence came from?
