Just as we get this software in, a new update is released. So this Sunday morning (EDT) I'll be updating the forum software again. I expect this to be a far shorter process than our last update but it will mean the site may be unavailable for a little bit. I'll update this thread when all is done.

Just finished it. Took about 15 min and seems to be ok. Let me know if anyone finds any issues along the way. :)

I am unable to log onto the website from my Macintosh. I've tried Safari and Firefox and neither of them work :(

Interesting. Have you cleared out all your cookies on both? How were you able to log in to post? What error do you see, if any?

It drives me crazy :psycho: when I click on a link in a post and it navigates away from this site instead of opening it in a new tab automatically!! Doesn't it drive you crazy too? Don't you think it's better to keep people here, rather than direct them away?

Other than that, I like the new software.

You know what...I was thinking the same thing (just recently) and forgot to mention it to my buddies that update the site. I noticed it today when I clicked on a link to watch Chuck Liddell get knocked out...closed the window and realized I closed the forum.

So yeah, I noticed it too but forgot to pass the word on up to the guys who make the changes. I love the new software too, and we have exciting new updates coming soon (and currently have a chatroom that gets quite active at times).

Actually, that's the behavior of your browser, not the site. If you have Firefox 3, for example, go to Tools --> Options --> Tabs. You can select where new sites are opened into. Internet Explorer 6 will always open into the existing window. (You can always right-click and choose Open in New Window).

It's the behavior of the forum. Notice he said it navigates away, not opens a new window or tab. Here is how it can be changed to open in a new tab/window.

But, an easy way to open the links you click in a new tab is to hold the Ctrl key when clicking it

Great work :) Love the new forum.

The forum upgrade was worth it. I occasionally post to other vegan boards that use phpBB. I can't do some things there with my posts that I CAN do here. We have the most modern set up.
