Relationship between water and working out?

Hi guys! I've noticed that the stronger I get the more water I drink! I don't break into a sweat when I work out so don't think i'm getting dehydrated and I already drink about a gallon of water a day, I've also noticed that I feel real pumped when I drink water too and the more I drink the more I want to eat, so I was wondering what was the relationship between water and working out? I had a heavy workout yesterday and now all I want to do is drink water!
