N.O Xplode

Recommended Posts

No idea, but I'm surprised you liked that stuff. I had a sample of it that looked vegan so I tried it and felt like shit. Was shaking and blew all my energy very early in the workout. I also doubt it's the N.O. component that's doing it, as that's pretty much been shown ineffective. (Though it's still advertised everywhere!)

Yeah, it's not the nitric oxide because i had those pills as well and they didn't do a thing but they came with a bsn shirt.I liked it's taste as well (fruit punch), it was just what i needed when i felt too tired to train.I also had the axis labs brand as well but it had lesser affect.

Green tea is the best thing i have now because it doesn't make me weak like the energy drink but gives me a little bit of energy and changes the atmosphere in my gym.

Clod Fission,

I have also switched to green tea before training. I find it gives me the "smoothest" energy boost...everything else gives me a temporary high and then a crash similar to what chrisjs described. That, or if I also need a pre-workout snack, I take one of the Clif Bars that has caffeine in it (peanut toffee buzz...hot damn that tastes good).

Dont know if you know, but Vega Sport[lemon lime is my favorite] is preworkout and will give you the energy needed without the jitters. It has green tea, maca, kombucha...natural energizers.

Those energy drinks have so much acid and shyt in them that they will rot your teeth(trust me I have a $1200 silver tooth).

Ive been known to take some NOXPLODE in the past, but recently I came across an ingredient that was labelled on a 2 serving packet, but not on the 2lb jug.

In the other ingredient list it listed "natural and artificial flavors" but after the artificial flavors it had [milk] in brackets right after it.

Now the jug had calcium silicate(which I wiki'd) and this is what it is used for:

"Calcium orthosilicate is a white powder with a low bulk density and high physical water absorption. It is used as an anti-caking agent and an antacid. A white free-flowing powder derived from limestone and diatomaceous earth, calcium silicate has no known adverse effects to health[citation needed]. It is used in roads, insulation, bricks, roof tiles, table salt[2] and occurs in cements, where it is known as belite (or in cement chemist notation C2S)."

"Calcium silicate is commonly used as a safe alternative to asbestos for high temperature insulation materials. Industrial grade piping and equipment insulation is often fabricated from calcium silicate. Its fabrication is a routine part of the curriculum for insulation apprentices. Calcium silicate competes in these realms against rockwool as well as proprietary insulation solids, such as perlite mixture and vermiculite bonded with sodium silicate. Although it is popularly considered an asbestos substitute, early uses of calcium silicate for insulation still made use of asbestos fibers."

I stopped using it because it has stearic acid in it and that is almost always animal fat derived. And they would do animal testing on their products too which i want no part of.

Vega sport sounds like what i'm after.

*checks ingredients to ensure customs won't seize it*

Looks pretty good.As far as i know it's only hemp seed ingredients they won't let through so this should be fine.Strange that such a healthy and eco friendly product like hemp seeds are illegal here.

You could try my energizer:

-4 shots espresso (or 1 cup double-strength coffee if you don't have an espresso machine)

-2500-5000mg powdered arginine

-1/2 cup pumpkin puree

-cinnamon to taste

-1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional...I add this if I'm taking this post-workout and need energy)

Blend, drink, enjoy.

I don't have any of that stuff.I don't like coffee because the taste grosses me out.I can't afford any protein powder right now because i'm saving up to get a Darth Vader costume and talking helmet (we'll see who laughing when i post video of me street fighting in it and winning).

I'll second Vega Sport's energizing powers. Last time I took it, I mistakenly did a double-dose, and I felt like I was bouncing off the walls for hours afterward. I'm not susceptible to caffeine (I can drink a triple espresso and barely feel it), but Vega Sport, that stuff made me wired as hell. Just stick to a single serving at first, because I found out quickly that a double was more than I needed

And dont ever take 2 scoops on an empty stomach early in the morning then have another 2 scoops shortly after that first serving is done!!! This made me feel very sick until I got some food in me. Made me feel super energized....almost like sonic the hedgehog.

You could try garlic XD

I've read stuff about galic increasing NO production before, but this is all I could find quickly:

Research suggests that garlic can help make small improvements in blood pressure by increasing the blood flow to the capillaries, which are the tiniest blood vessels. The chemicals in garlic achieve this by causing the capillary walls to open wider and reducing the ability of blood platelets to stick together and cause blockages.

Reductions are small -- 10 mmHg (millimeters of mercury, the unit of measurement for blood pressure) or less. This means if your blood pressure is 130 over 90 mmHg, garlic might help lower it to 120 over 80 mmHg. That's a slight improvement, but, along with some simple lifestyle adjustments, such as getting more exercise, garlic might help move your blood pressure out of the danger zone.

Preliminary studies indicate that garlic may also increase the production of nitric oxide. This chemical compound is produced in the lining of blood vessels, and it helps the vessels relax and allow blood to flow more freely.

Pre-workout garlic?No way.

I'll e-mail some of these companies that make these preworkout powders and see if any are vegan.I think if we all e-mail BSN and tell them to change the stearic acid to a vegan kind and stop using aspartame aka genetically modified e-coli then maybe they will change it.Can't see why not.

Good news again. The milk in the flavoring might not even exist. It's just there because they process it on the same machinery as milk products and list it in the ingredients so they don't have to list it anywhere else on the product.A person at veggieboards emailed them and they told him the N.O Xplode and the cellmas are vegan.Amazing.

Well don't laugh at me so quickly!! According to studies nitric oxide just doesn't work:

http://www.pponline.co.uk/encyc/nitric-oxide-its-role-your-body-and-truth-behind-its-performance-enhancing-properties-40886

However, Nitrate eaten in fruit and vegetables is converted to NO by the body and works brilliantly!:

http://www.pponline.co.uk/encyc/sports-nutrition-is-dietary-nitrate-the-key-to-enhanced-endurance-performance-41930

You should read the articles all the way through..they are very interesting. There are links to the research at the bottom of the pages, they seem pretty sound and unbiased

So for our pre-workout shakes, maybe we should all be juicing beets and spinach..maybe adding in some orange juice or raisins for sweetness and a tonne of nitrate XD

And for our evening salad, one of my favourites: rocket with toasted walnuts, raisins, balsamic and agave.

From everything I've read, I think looking to increase your nitrate consumption from natural foods would be FAR more effective than taking NO supplements, whose positive effects, according to the studies, are all psychologically based as all the trials have done is to prove that if anything, NO may actually be DETRIMENTAL to your performance.

These are the only type of studies worth looking at, as the others are sponsored by companies who manufacture NO.

If NO works, it's just because you've read the hype and want to believe it..don't underestimate the power of belief!! But when yu see how these scientists analyised the levels of various components in the blood of athletes taking NO, you can't ignore the scientific facts.

In my opinion, the ONLY natural products which have been proven scientifically to work, are creatine and bulgarian tribulis. ZMA works too but only if you are deficient in zinc, magnesium or vitamin B (which is very possible for a vegan who sweats a lot), but once your levels are restored to normal it loses its effect.

If I were you I would go with the bulgarian tribulis as I've seen some astonishing results, guys who REALLY look like they take steroids. There is some impressive independant research out there backing it up too so you should check it out. Its just a shame it doesn't work for women. In men it increases testosterone levels..and a LOT. In women it increases oestrogen and lowers testosterone

I bought some for my friend on the net and I reckon the stuff they sell at myprotein.co.uk es by far the best value I've seen anywhere. I'll pass you the link if you are interested. They also have some cheap brown rice protein which I love XD

I hope I haven't come over as cocky or anything..its just I was so blown away by the results I've seen on 2 male friends of mine who were taking tribulus, that I did some research. I was very impressed but once I discovered it was unsuitable for women, I started to do a bit of research on every natural supplement out there which was said to increase muscle or improve performance etc.

The conclusion I've drawn is that ALL the products are a waste of money, apart from the two I've mentioned above. I'm just SO jealous that I can't take tribulus

yeah, me too.

i wonder if there's anything natural that can increase T levels in women in a healthy way...

I thought tribulus was a plant?

i never used it though and i read in a bodybuilding mag it didn't do anything anyway.

Sleep, exercise and healthy eating and living (sun etc) would be the best thing.

I don't take n.o.xplode anymore.i used it a couple times and it was the most unnatural thing i've consumed since becoming vegan.

Green tea is the best.I use 2 tea bags pre workout.

No..tribulus works! I downloaded some studies conducted by the Bulgarian government..they were pretty impressive. In men it has a stimulating action on the testes causing you to produce more sperm. It was studied mainly as an alternative to viagra and to help with infertility. In women it has a stimulating effect on the ovaries. It was studied as it could help with infertility or for post menopausal women..obviously for female bodybuilders its completely useless though as it lowers testosterone levels and increases oestrogen production. You should go into the myprotein.co.uk website and get onto the forum there and read what people have to say about trib. Pretty impressive and all the guys I know who have used it have had massive gains. The only downside is that it can give you acne and you have to cycle it..rather like steroids.

If you are thinking about buying it you need to make sure that its bulgarian tribulus as its the only one which has a proven effect as other strains of the plant dont have the same sapoins. The one they sell on myprotein is by far the best quality at the cheapest price I have ever seen..4 times cheaper than the best available here in Spain.

If you want more info I could dig around on my PC and see if I kept all the research I downloaded..or you could simply do a search on google..although it took me a long time to find any valuable research as so much is conducted by compaines who are trying to sell tribulus XD

Bumping this thread. Does anyone have a definitive answer to whether this is vegan?

The problem is, milk is listed in the ingredients. If this is just because it's made on a line that handles milk and is for allergies, that's not going to bother me. But the problem is if they start using milk, nothing's really going to change on the package. I can't find an email address and don't want to register on the BSN site just to ask.

Has anyone used this product for a full training cycle before?

I would be more tempted just to buy a tub of Vega Sport Optimizer but the price difference is vast.

I got some samples of a different preworkout energy powder called 1.M.R. (1 more rep) and it has no milk or animal ingredients in the ingredients. And its way better than N.O.Xplode imo.

After training i thought i was gonna passout though.I dont know if it was the powder itself or i trained too hard.Best workout in ages though. And you dont need much of the powder either. With noxplode i was taking 3 scoops after the first month and barely getting a rush.1mr scared me.Its liek a drug.
