hello vegans,

does any off you use iron suplements?

if so what and how much?

my multi has iron in it, I take one almost every day. I have heard that too much iron can be very bad for men's health. Any validity to this, and if so any idea what amounts are safe?

I took an iron supplement (about 18 milligrams) daily based on an ignorant doctor (she based the prescription on blood test taken from allergy complaints and another doctor looking at same report said the previous doctor was wrong: this is why I call her ignorant.)

I began to get daily headaches, some severe. It took me two months to isolate the iron (tried removing various things from my diet - iron was last - I am also ignorant for not checking the iron sooner) as the cause. The day after not taking it (iron is toxic, beyond your body's needs), no more headaches.
