Does anyone know where there is a more informative vegan-based equivalent of this? Preferably not a site endorsing weight loss and listing a potato chip as a vegetable...

I don't know of a vegan-based alternative but I've been using this website for quite some time and have found it very helpful;

http://nutritiondata.self.com/
High carb, low fat, whole foods. Any questions?

If you want daily calorie tracking, I would go with fitday, dailyplate, livestrong, or a site like that. If you want info about the nutritional content of different foods, then nutritiondata is definitely the place to go.
