Yeast extract, unhealthy?????

#1 Postby ZARA™ » Thu Feb 02, 2012 9:10 am

Hello, I'm already using Soy products since a couple of weeks but I saw there are "yeast extract" in the products, I'm reading many many articles that it's related with E-number 621 and that it's unhealthy, is that true??? :S

Hope to read more about this...

Unhealthy? I don't think so.

Some people are unusually sensitive to MSG and may get headaches and go flush after consuming it, but that's a small part of the population.

It's just used as a flavor enhancer, perhaps not healthful but I don't think there's any real evidence that it's harmful.
