 Post subject: Maca Effectiveness, Non Libido Effects Preferably???

Alright!!! I just ordered some vegan maca(Rainbow Light brand 500mg per capsule) and I don't know what to do with the libido benefits as I need no libido at the present moment...in fact I'd rather not have one at all...it makes life harder than it needs to be(no pun intended but too funny to change). I was wondering if any of you have taken Maca by itself...not with vega. I'm just curious to see what it does in itself since I think vega has so many great properties its hard to tell what the maca does alone. Any info would be great but preferably "athletic" performance stuff, but if you guys get other gains and feel you need to share feel free if you so choose...I haven't taken any supplements outside of spirulina/nutritional yeast(if you can call them that) for almost 5 yrs(since I first turned vegan) and I'm a little curious to see how my body reacts to them. I'm hoping it give me a boost on the bike so long as none of the normal effects of maca impede my pedal stroke

***I took a viagra once when I was 15 or 16(my brother got it from a roomate that was a doctor) and it was an odd experience to say the very least...it definately helped me rep out weights I couldn't do previously but me and my brother were resident sundials in the gym for the day :lol:

I use maca in smoothies (in addition to what is in Vega), and I also use goji berries and some other things that are supposed to have libido-enhancing effects, but I don't take them for that reason. In fact, like you, I really don't want to be going around like a horn-dog all day (well, you didn't QUITE say that :wink: ).

I haven't noticed any unpleasant effects in that arena, such as uncontrolable nymphomania (satyriasis, in your case).

I also think that one can divert any libido into other pursuits, such as physical activity and even intellectual activity and creative works (you could do a lot of pottery making ).

It may have different effects on males than on females, but that's my ake on it.

I'm not looking for the libido effects as there are no liable libido recipients at the moment....although I could use it for the energy for vegan hunting with the hoodia I'm gonna be getting too...Hoodia is used by Desert Living African natives in order to not suffer the pain of lack of food when they go on hunts for days..so the combination could be potent and dangerous. That too would be good cross training as it is very hard to get me off my bike to do anything but jumprope and watch movies. As for pots I never really need any help doing that...I think I work better when I don't have any energy...it keeps me from just making big pots and it lets me relax.
