smonk
So, I'm reading up on natural supplements for permanent health protection(cause I wanna live to be a hundred), and I stumble across this age old natural remedy called Saw Palmetto. The berries from this small palm tree are traditionaly used in the treatment of enlarged prostate- but several sources also stated that North American Indians, who were the first to discover saw palmetto's benefits, noticed that it gave their men "gladiator style muscles" and also did wonders for their love lives. Are these sources really saying that saw palmetto is anabolic(muscle building) and helps build muscle tissue? Well, that's the idea I was getting...until I read an article in Bodybuilding.com, that stated the exact opposite. According to them, in fact, saw palmetto is anti-anabolic, and they reported no muscle or strength building effects, what so ever, from taking the supplement. Can someone please tell me what the real deal is, here? Any help is welcome!
kjtten
I've read that it can be good for your prostate, but none of the other claims.
willpeavy
Legend has it that it blocks DHT. I haven't seen any evidence if this true or not. I drink saw palmetto tea, but mainly because I like the taste
