So, I just ate Tempeh for the first time

and my stomach hurts now. Ughh. I've eaten tofu a hundred times and never got a stomach ache. I'm wondering if it's the tempeh or something else. Anyone else ever get a stomach ache from eating tempeh?

nope, never been sick from tempeh - though i don't like it much! how did you prepare it? the only way that I've been able to really stomach it is when I cut it up really tiny and mix it with steamed veggies and top with tahini dressing.

Well, I cut it up into bite size pieces and stir fried it with broccoli, mushrooms, garlic and tamari sauce. I've never had tamari sauce either though. I'll give tempeh one more chance.

Hi Crystal,

Nope- i havent had any weird stomach reactions to tempeh either.

Sorry that your stomhac did not agree with it! :(

Have you tried seitan yet? Seitan is not easy to cook/master but can really be delicious depending on what you do with it.

There are tons of vegan recipes out there - a simple google search will yield lots.

There is a whole world of amazing vegan cuisine out there waiting to be discovered by you.

hope you feel better  . Damn tempeh!!!

tempeh has never given me any trouble and I eat it several times a month. It actually is supposed to be better for you than tofu.
