pratt
In a normal healthy diet does it matter at which times of the day you eat your protein, carbs, and fat? I understand there are needs pre and post workout, but take those out of the equation for sake of argument. I've noticed recently my mornings are mostly carbs, bordering on 80% of my caloric intake. Over the day I usually see a balancing of about 55% Carb, 30% Fat, and 20% Protein The morning carbs are primarily coming from fruits. Banana, Mango, OJ. It kind of sounds like this would be normal, but is it? Edited April 13, 2007 by pratt
SeaSiren
I have different needs than you. But right now it's about 33%, 33%, 33% Most of my carbs are in the AM, Protein at every meal and fats toward the end.
Odidnetne
It sounds about right to me. I normally eat lots of fruit in the morning, then heavier foods during the day. I normally can't eat that much heavy stuff when I wake up, so it's either fruit or a fruit smoothie.

Guest
I think its definately normal for endurance athletes to crave carbs in the morning to jump start them since we require our heart rates to increase. Lifters don't need that so much as really they just have a minor increase but increase in blood pressure.
