The 12 Days of Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness - Daily Inspiration

Inspiration from Robert Cheeke’s New Book Think Differently, due out summer of 2012

“Go back in time and think about your beginning and what made you excited about life. What did you want to be when you grew up? Did that dream fade away, and if so, why? What new dream took its place? Who were your role models and how did their influence help shape you as a young person growing up in the busy world around you? Do you remember the first time you ever discovered what you were really passionate about? Take a trip down memory lane and think about all the opportunities you worked for, the obstacles you had to overcome and the underlying motivation that kept you going. If you gave up and gave in, do you remember why? Was it something that created a pattern throughout your life when you came face to face with other challenging situations? If you were able to overcome adversity and achieve, do you remember how you felt and if that had an impact on your life moving forward?

The early years of our lives, in the beginning, are important to remember and learn from. It is during this period when we form most of our character traits that remain with us for the rest of our lives. It is a time when we decided who we wanted to be. The actions that followed revealed whether our behavior would support our dreams, or lead us astray. The fundamental things that mattered to you then, likely matter to you now. Not the little things that constantly change and adapt as we evolve, but the core beliefs about such things as our behavior around others, the way we want to be treated, our work ethic, the traits we look for in a friend, what we love about our family or those who are closest to us and so on.

How often do we pause and reflect upon a single decision we made that changed the course of our life, for the good or the bad, and hover over that decision, re-living it in our minds? If we’re totally honest with ourselves, the truth is, we do this often. We think back to the decision we made in a relationship, perhaps the thing we did or didn’t say, or the time we couldn’t find the courage to stand up for ourselves. Those moments are worth reflecting upon and naturally encourage us to think about the decisions we’ll make today and how they’ll affect tomorrow. That brief recollection of the past could change the course of your history.”

-Robert Cheeke

Quote of the Day:

From the Best-Selling Book Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness – The Complete Guide to Building Your Body on a Plant-Based Diet:

“As you begin your bodybuilding program always remember what inspired you to become a bodybuilder in the first place, and always remember what bodybuilding means to you. It will help keep your drive alive and your enthusiasm high even when times get tough. When at the end of the day you ask yourself, “Is it worth it?” find a way, every time, to say, “Yes!” If you are able to honestly say that your investment in the bodybuilding lifestyle is worth it because of the fulfillment and reward you get from it, then you are doing better than most people when it comes to contentment in life.” –Robert Cheeke

Daily Success Tip:

From Robert Cheeke’s New Book Think Differently, due our Summer, 2012:

“If you treat your body and your mind well, your vibrant health will be a shining example of self-respect and your commitment to personal wellness.” –Robert Cheeke
