xRogerx
I am having some trouble with my form on the dead lift. Should this be more of a leg or a back movement? From what I can gather, the type of dead lift that i was taught is the Romanian Dead Lift. I feel like I use my back more and I can only do about 200 lbs before it really starts to tweak my back. Should you squat more for a dead lift? Any videos or illustrations would help me a lot! Thanks!
vegan_rossco
hey dude, for deads I started super light and did a shit ton of reps to get the form right so that it felt okay! Here are a couple of vids that may help matey, the top video is Mini forklift and the bottom video is me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35cGtqTRXkU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5MrFgFacJw&feature=youtu.be think of it as a leg and back and well everything else workout, people will argue until they're blue in the face about whether it should be more legs or more back, hip position etc etc, just have a play around with light weights and check out some more vids mate, all the best

Evader
Thanks man! My back is sore as hell today. you shouldn't actually be moving your back. keep it locked with a very very tiny arch upwards then you bend at the hips. The back workout is simply from resisting the weight, not from lifting it.
xRogerx
Yeah my form is still pretty bad I guess. A dude at the gym today saw me using mostly my back and told me I needed to squat more. I'm gonna work on it with some lighter weights.
