Jason, I've been incorporating more strength training and it really helps. Muscle consumes more calories than fat so it should probably help with the weight loss. Keep going, I'm looking forward to the pics. Ciao

Thanks VI

I really do need to do more strenght training.
I've just been feeling so weak since starting to lose weight.
Mostly in my squatting and benching, I haven't done deadlifting in quite a while.

My goal was to be 32 inch waist by the end of September, didn't make it.
Had a little bump in the road that month, put on a few pounds.
Now I feel back on track to be there by the end of November.
Trying to be very high raw.

Maybe pictures in a month :)
I could show you my scary before picture

Hey Jason, that's awesome that you've dropped four inches around your waist. That's where I lost the most inches too (I lost 6-7 inches around my waist- 30-31ish to 24). When I lost weight, I also didn't look at a scale for nine months because I didn't want to be fixated on the number.

Do you run on the treadmill because you don't like running outside? I used an elliptical for a year and a half before I started running outside, but eventually found it mind numbingly boring no matter how many movies I watched. :D

But I think it really helped to develop my leg muscles, which made running outside easier for me at the start than it is for lots of people.

Sorry Pamela, I missed your post at the bottom of the page until now.
I actually just walk on the treadmill, not running yet.
3 miles per hour, and I've been gradually increasing the incline.
I prefer being outside, but the treadmill keeps me going at my speed.

Eventually I would like to start running.
Maybe next spring when the snow melts.

I rip my rock and roll concert DVDs to watch.
They aren't as boring as movies to watch more than once.

Adding my food intake to my log now.
When I logged my food in July-August I did well, so I'm back to that.
I want to lose at least 2 inches between Thanksgiving and Christmas

11:30 - Veggie Stir Fry

5:00 - banana, berry, water smoothie

6:00 - 60 minutes on inclined treadmill

9:00 - apple
