Robert's Daily Food Journal
What a difference a journal makes!
I hope to see many more people on here starting Daily Food Journals! I'll make a new entry each day with date clearly listed.
Today I'm off to a pretty good start considering I never would have had my protein drink OR oatmeal had I not decided to create a food log and be accountable for it.
I slept in, but here is what today looks like so far. I'll update it at the end of each day, and occasionally, I'll update it throughout the day, if I'm home.

Approximate Totals for Monday November 26, 2007:
Total Calories consumed = 4,000
Total Grams of protein = 100 grams
Total ounces of water = 35 ounces
Other liquids = 35 ounces
Notes/Comments:
Most of my calories came from bread and oil today! I ate a ton of oil, many table spoons in total (at 120 calories per serving). I didn't get nearly as much protein as I thought I'd get and my fluid intake was very low.
It's OK. It's good to know this. This is a sample, just one day. There were some good things about it, such as my meal frequency. I ate pretty often. I got a few pieces of fruit in, but not as much as I thought I'd eat. I also didn't eat too many veggies today. My focus was finishing off the bread and consuming a lot of oil. I didn't have many "meals" today, just one really, for dinner. It was a snacking day today.
I think this log will be good for me. In fact, I know it will be good for me. I look forward to tomorrow's stats.

No. Everyone creates their own journal (everyone who wants to participate). It will be updated each day, or throughout the day.
I hope to see a bunch of people doing it. I'd also advise people reading anyone's food journal to give it a solid week before giving suggestions, as we all have on and off days, busy days, days we're out of food or money, days we're traveling, etc.
Unless you see something alarming, I'd wait a good week to get an accurate assessment of someone's nutrition program. I hope to see more people starting their own journal too!

I slept in again today. I've been training more, so maybe it makes me extra tired.
I ate as soon as I got out of bed so you can get an idea of when I got up
Tuesday November 27, 2007
10:55AM
8 ounces orange juice
1 banana
11:30AM
12 ounces orange juice
1 banana
12:30PM
Green Protein Drink (12g protein, 320 calories)
1 banana
2:45PM
2 large plates of greens with Vega omega 3-6-9 EFA oil
2 servings of artisan bread with Vega oil
1 ginger ale natural soda from Whole Foods
5:30PM
2 slices of seed bread with peanut butter
8.4 ounces green tea energy drink (pre-workout since Zack reminded me to go)
6:30PM
2 slices of seed bread with peanut butter
8:45PM
1 banana
1 Asian pear
(at the gym from 9:30PM-11:30PM)
30 ounces water consumed
11:45PM
Protein drink (20g protein, 380 calories)
12:30AM
4 slices of seed bread with peanut butter
1/2 carton (2 servings) of lemon sorbet
Approximate Totals for Tuesday November 27, 2007
Total Calories consumed = 3,800
Total Grams of protein = 125 grams
Total ounces of water = 30 ounces
Other liquids = 75 ounces
Notes/Comments:
Today was another day fairly heavy in breads and oils, but I liked it. I also had the two large salads and almost had two more salads after my workout but I wanted something heavier. So I went with the four slices of bread with peanut butter on each one.
My meal frequency wasn't quite as high, but still good, eating 9 times during the day.
My workout was late in the evening because of work and tomorrow I will take a day off from the gym. I think I'll be out of town all day tomorrow so it will be a day filled with fruit and energy bars and maybe one real meal.
Anyway, the food journal is fun and it's keeping me well fed!

You wait until you get here Rob, I'll feed you my soups, nothing but vegetables.
I think a burrito or two would probably up your protein percentage to something that's more within what you're looking for too, but I mean, "burritos, duh"

Yeah, that is why I say give it a week or so before too many suggestions
I normally eat burritos 4 days a week, so you'll likely see them on other days.
Check back for updates. I hope to see others creating a detailed food journal too!!!!!!

You mean about me gassing everyone out of my house or when I blew up to 191lbs a few months ago when davidtarrfoster made 16 burritos that I felt obligated to eat, right away

Actually, it's all true (I didn't eat 16 in one day, but did eat 7 and I was very sick!).
I even took photos of my bloatedness but have only shared with them Dave, Brendan and Tonya. I wouldn't want them to "leak out" on the internet because they are really bad pics!
And, I was up to 191 when I consumed all that, so it's all true, no worries there.

Do the math
I couldn't even sleep that night, my stomach hurt so bad. Dave remembers it well. I even posted about it months ago...it is when I first went "RAW" to try to help myself after that burrito binge!

Oh yeah, gotta stay away from the restroom when R.C. is in da house! I think Jessifly and I are driving up to Canada together soon so somebody better warn her. I'm going light that car up! We won't need to stop for gas during the entire trip. I'll have enough to go around
P.S. I just updated my food journal for Tuesday.
