I didn't do any treadmill this morning

Instead I did benchpress at noon.

I haven't benched in quite a while.

I used the machines for flat, incline and decline bench.

I'm really weak again.

Hopefully I did it right and will have sore pecs tomorrow.

I hoped for sore pecs from Sunday's bench workout.

Boy did I get them. The worst Pec DOMS I've ever had.

They hurt all the way from the middle to the armpits.

I had to postpone my squat workouts because I couldn't raise my arms.

Tonight squat was 130 pounds X 25 reps

A little later I spent 40 minutes on the inclined treadmill.

Morning Treadmill: 30 minutes, 3mph, 10 incline

Squat Night: 135 pounds X 25 reps

I got to take all the little plates off tonight and put one big plate on each end of the bar

Evening Treadmill after squatting: 30 minutes, 3mph, 10 incline

Took some time off from exercise.

Last week I woke up with a horrible pain in the back of my neck

Couldn't turn my head or look down.

Today I could barely feel it so I squatted.

140 pounds X 25 reps

The last few were a bit tough.

Up til now the 25 reps haven't been very hard.

Now the work seems to be starting.

I'm heading to the gym now for a 30 minute ride on the inclined treadmill

Back to the regular schedule tomorrow.

  • 1 month later...

After almost a month and a half, I'm back at it.

It got bitter cold in January, so I couldn't motivate myself to go to the gym.

When it got warm enough, I caught a slight cold.

The runny nose lasted about 3 or 4 days.

But the cough still plagues me, especially when I get a little winded.

I hope that I can just walk it off.

My young (19) cousin wants to lift with me, so now I have a lifting partner.

Last night we squatted, benched and did pull downs.

It's tough to get motivated the further winter moves along.

Everbody is joking about how the whole city has a "black cloud" over it.

people are grumpy, tired and sun starved.

Just a couple months to go until spring!!!!

DANG, my cold came back. It seems mild.

The good news is my cough is much better.

Just a couple months to go until spring!!!!

It been feeling like spring here for the past few days.

I saw 61 degrees on my car's thermometer the other day.

We are at -33 degrees windchill all week.

When will it end????

I can't wait to get outside for running and soccer.

Winter running actually isn't too bad but it's not fun when the snow is melting.

We are at +44 with a wind chill of +36

You just keep that Great White North weather all to yourself eh.

My cold came back the day after my last workout.

Lots of coughing up nasty green stuff.

When will my cold end ????

That's what you get when the temp gets above freezing.

Nothing can survive in our deep freeze!!!!

Are you planning to take a little time off of the cardio?

That's so frustrating when you have to wait for the congestion to clear up.

  • 2 weeks later...

Whatever I've had for the last 2 months feels much better.

I started my 20 rep squat program again today.

I started from the beginning since it's been so long

After warmup:

95 pounds X 25 reps

Just a little bit of coughing when I was finished.

Add 5 pound every 3 days until I get to 200x20

A little later in the evening I spent an hour on the inclined treadmill

Less incline and less speed than I was doing 2 months ago.

Still some minor coughing

Tonight was 25 rep squatting.

100 pounds x 25 reps.

Still a little coughing when I get winded at the end.

I hope the coughing goes away soon, it's getting annoying.

Now I'm off to the treadmill to walk off tomorrow's DOMs

This morning I spent 60 minutes on the inclined treadmill

Not much dry coughing, just a little green stuff.

Whatever I had seems to be almost gone.

Tonight was squatting, 25 reps of 105 pounds

A little while after squatting: 30 minutes on inclined treadmill
