VegHead
I have ripped some muscle fibers in my calf muscle. ouch!!!!!!!I guess this can take up to 6 weeks to heal (or longer) Any tips on how to stay in shape while waiting this out?Any supplements that would speed up the healing process? I didnt get a steroid injection because the fibers that are injured or up higher and not very close to the bone. The doctor did use some lamp on it. Anyone know anything about that? I guess NASA used it in space. Thanks Edited November 22, 2005 by VegHead
michaelhobson
I have ripped some muscle fibers in my calve muscle. ouch!!!!!!! OUCH indeed!!! Unfortunately, I have no advice as I tend to avoid doctors. I can only offer sympathy, as I ripped my left calf muscle at Vegan Fitness Week in June. It took several months before it was back to normal.
veggymeggy
I have no advice either.....but I know my ex-boyfriend's dad ripped his calf last year, and it took forever to heal....and he kept refusing to lay off of it, so he'd reinjure it before it was done healing. So go easy on yourself!
Hero
a lamp?? hmmm....what kind of radiation did it omit? Ive heard of sonic vibration being used, in fact ive had some used on me. Ive torn many tendons and muscles before. the key thing to help it heal faster: REST stay off of it. let your body heal itself. also make sure to eat a diet full of carbs and protein and calories as if bulking up, this will help provide the necessary energy for your body to heal itself. VegHead
No, he really didn't say. I am totally new at this and it sucks because for a moment I feel like I can get around fine and then I hurt myself and I am back to square one. This gets old real quick.
