Greenpower's quest

Recommended Posts

Greetings all! I just thought that I would cast out my workout statistics upon the winds of the internet in the hopes that they might find some use to someone (other than me.) Keep in mind that I'm something of a noob at working out and thus my posts might be of limited utility.

Sunday

ran 6 miles

walked 2

Tuesday

3 sets perfect push up (1 normal 1 wide 1 close) 50 reps each

2 sets, 55 reps of barbell curl (50 lbs)

3 sets, 15 reps preacher curl (42lbs)

3 sets, 10 reps pull ups (underhand grip)

3 sets, 15 reps bench dip

3 sets, 15 reps triceps kickback (30lbs)

3 sets, 15 reps French press (15lbs)

5 miles biking.

The quest to gain 70lbs of muscle in ten years continues...

You flatter Michael; I must confess that by the end of my last circuit my arms were very much in the failure zone if you will.

Anyway, another day, another entry (assuming that I'm not being a loser and neglecting my training obligations)

Thursday:

Ran for 2.5 miles with 6 pounds worth of ankle weights. Managed to outrun my younger cousin (who skis for the state of Vermont in regional meets) so I was delighted.

Another entry into this odd little blog of mine.

All in about 45 minutes after working on an organic

farm. I feel so proud.

another day, another entry:

Decline dumbbell press: 4X10 at 30lbs

Decline fly: 4x10 at 30 lbs

Benchpress: 1X6 1X14 2x10 at 90lbs (boy could I tell some stories about those sets. )

Scarecrow 3x20 at 15lbs

front raise 3x15 at 15 lbs

lateral raise 2x10 at 50 lbs 1x10 at 70 lbs

And a 3 mile run in a thunderstorm to top it all off!

  • 2 weeks later...

It seems that I am neglecting my obligation to this infant journal of mine. In any case this is due to a number of reasons. First, I now work full time, crimping my workout oppurtnities. Second, my battles with cripling anexity made it difficult to summon the willpower to post my puny routines on the vast internet.

Anyway, just a couple of updates:

I can now bench 125 lbs in free weights.

I can bench 230 on a machine.

I can bike over 20 miles in just over 2 hours.

I can run 10k in 40:43 (needs work)

Someday, (in no particular order) I hope to bench 130 lbs free, 300 on machine and run 10 k in under 30 minutes. I know that this is unrealistic, but that does not deter me!

In other news, I must now gain 55 lbs in 10 years to complete my quest.
