Pullups not pushups :?

But that's 12 more than last time, and it's not 12, but only 9 days later, so you're good in schedule so far ;)

Go for the world record! Vegan Power! :D

I just did 107 pullups in one hour

The world record for pullups in one hour is 470 - see http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_71580.asp - which means that I'm 363 reps short of the record. If I'm able to improve my reps/hour max by an average of 1 rep per day, then in a year I would be able to compete with the record. I decided I'm going to start training for that
There's a lot of discussion board posts saying Jack Lalanne supposedly did 1000 in 82 minutes. I recall the record for doing them straight without stopping is supposedly 360 by someone with an asian name which I can't remember.

Yeah Jack Lalanne is awesome. He's nearly 3 times my age and he can do more fingertip pushups than I can. If you can find an official record of him doing 1000 in 82 minutes let me know. The highest record I've found on the Internet is 470/hr

Thanks man. It felt great to do that many. Well not exactly great, more like really sore. But like you said I'm ahead of schedule... tomorrow night is chinup night!

Awesome, Will!

How many do you do in a row and how long are your breaks?

Do you warm up before you start the 60min count?

Last night I was doing 1 set of 5 reps every two minutes (which adds up to 150 if I stayed tightly on schedule). I had to slow down a little towards the end which is why I came up 10 short of 150

The first 15-20 reps are pretty easy, and those are my warmup

True man Dodgeball is a funny one :)

Yeah you gotta try maxing out on chins or pullups, they're fun. As you can probably guess I'm addicted to doing them

Will, concerning record chinup performances, these links might interest you. In the first that guy did over 200 nonstop in his 60's.

Cool, good links thanks. I think the one finger on one arm chins are the most impressive

I've been doing a bunch of pushups (PP2, bowling ball, fingertips), one leg squats, and bowling ball situps for the past 3 days. I haven't bothered counting with counting reps on these exercises. I plan to try for max reps/hr on pullups again tomorrow (Monday) night

Pullups used to be a lot harder for me too. But pullups and chins have been equally as challenging for me lately. I've noticed some growth rencently in my Brachioradialis and I think that might be why

I just found this link - http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.c ... G1ELV1.DTL

It looks like the current Guiness world record is 644 pullups in one hour. I'm not sure if they require overhand or underhand grip for their record
