Las Vegas is Large!

Recommended Posts

I am not sure this is the proper thread to add to this topic forum. Butr, I had to comment.

I just spent close to a week in Las Vegas. I love the place. Where else can I play blackjack for 7 hours and only lose $7? Heck the $1 movie isn't a better entertainment value than that.

One observation that I made while I was there was the over proportionate number of "large" people wandering up and down the strip, and on Fremont Street (This visit was my first time at Fremont Street, I think I liked it better than "The Strip").

I don't mean just tourists either.

Scary.

Hrmmm...I never really paid attention to the big people down there. However probably the reason is because many people stay at the casinos and don't have a good diet because it disrupts their eating time, so they munch down at hte buffets (which are pretty cheap in price). Just my guess, I may be wrong and I may be describing tourists instead of the locals there.

Having written that, I realized I should have back tracked a bit. While I was at the Stratosphere, Circus Circus, etc. There were a lot of large folks. But we did spend a day and night at the Palms. MTV and the Palms were filming a promo film there.

So there I am, sitting at the pool, and a whole flock of swimsuit models come wandering out for the shoot.

Then I'm in the hotel and Jenny McCarthy comes walking by with a film crew and apparently her "posse".

I was a real dicatame (spelling) bewteen one area and the other.

I LOVE Vegas. I was there for the Olympia last year, a whole week hanging out with fitness and tv/movie celebrities. I've thought about living there a few times as well.

I know what you mean, big people, but they are big everywhere; not just Vegas.

I worked for Celebrity Cruises for nearly 3 years and each week we had 2000 new guests. A very large percentage of them were very LARGE and I'm not talking muscle. That is just the direction so many are headed these days. It's sad and unfortunate, but in a way....and I don't want to sound mean.....but people ask for it, and get what they deserve and what's ultimately coming to them.

It just sucks when it's friends or family that go that route.

I told you Robert that I have cruised. I was shocked at the size of people cruising, and the swimsuits that these people has the audacity to wear around the ship.

I think some of these people really thought they were sexy???

I don't want to sound mean either, but who cares about the porpoises swimminga t the bow when the elephant seals are basking by the pool?

On one week out in the Caribbean with had 3 heart attack deaths on the ship. It was a bit of a shock, but that is one of the dangers of leading that kind of lifestyle.

It was sad for the families of course and scary for those (including one of my best friends) administering CPR, but we lost 3 that week.

Keep on staying healthy with eating right and exercise.

That's what our motto is all about: "Healthy Food Defines You"

What gets me is the average view seems to be “I’m the only thing that’s important so I’ll do what ever I want!” Completely ignoring the impact it could have on the earth and killing numerous animals so they can have bacon and pepperoni pizza. Then after their lifestyle catches up with them they want to experiment on animals to find cures for their diseases, or take a liver from a pig to replace the one they neglected. Why not just lead a healthy life?

Correcto Mundo. We punish others just so we can live our stupid lives eating and going around having sex (aids). Then who ends up paying for it? Animals.

And the poor third world countries that we outsource meat production to.

I think we put FAR too much emphasis on the size of a person, rather than the health of a person (and yes, I am struggling to be a nice person by not commenting on a persons size).

In the words of Anthony Robbins, the reason soooo many people are overweight is that "this hole here-(points to mouth), is bigger that this hole here (points to bum)."

I think that children(of these parents) who are obese are victims of child abuse myself. Children live what they learn.(blame is on fast food, fast lifestyles, stupid game boys, and sitting on bums all day) What goes in doesn't always come out.

Does anyone ever notice the difference between your shopping trolley and the next persons, either before or after? I mean no wonder the general population is overweight!

Gambling is an appalling waste of money and time, and I find nothing amusing about money being thrown away on a frivilous game when if you wanted to "throw" your money away, you could have at least thrown it towards some homelss person. Gluttony and gambling go hand in hand......I know I sound like a self righteous cow, but my pet hates are gambling, smoking, judgemental people, and all the poor me's of the world. But that is something I have to work on; my tolerance of people with these habits.
