Ducati on this site said it best, "The people who judge the victims are as bad as the abusers themselves. They make it difficult for those victims to want to seek help because of possible ridicule. Especially men."

I should have come to this specific place on the forum a while ago. But I didn't out of lack of knowledge that this spot on the forum and out of fear of being ridiculed, judged, and etc. But I'm tired of holding back from this specific battle.

Time and time again I have learned that life is a battlefield. You fight a battle everyday wheither it's against 100 men at arms or just keeping your sanity in check. Of course not all battles are physical. Some are mental, spiritual, sexual and even emotional. And as I have said before, I don't apreciate a lot of people's attitudes of "grow a pair and kick them to the curb," especially when it comes to mental and emotional health and abuse. As someone who has lived with Aspergers his entire life, and who has lost an uncle to suicide. I have been really offended by some of the comments made by people on this site.

I know for a fact none of those people will own up and take responsiblity for their mistakes, and I know I've been a real douche in the past to others on this site. But saying things like, "People are giving you advice and you turn around and play the "I have Asperger's Syndrome" card as if it's an excuse for you being depressed and there's nothing that can change it," "If your talking about them abusing you mentally you need to grow some balls and kick them to the curb." Or the ever popular, "stop playing the victim."

I know there's a chance of more possible ridicule, but keep all your negative comments and responses toward yourself.

I don't mean to insult you, but in the 56+ years of my life I have learned one thing.
No one, or anything can offend you, until you decide to become offended. You can choose to be offended or you can choose not to be offended.
Not to diminish you syndrome or insult you (remember you are not insulted until you choose to be insulted), But we must all take full responsibility for how and what we think. No one is is putting any thoughts in your head. You are choosing to think that way. Like it says in my signature "Happiness is a personal choice". Until you make the decision be happy right where you sit in the Universe (be it rich or poor, healthy or ill, single or attached, etc, etc.)you will constantly be at odds with yourself. Look around, you don't have to look far to find someone who's life's struggles are far more painful than yours, If you can't, you just need to look a little more, and you will soon see that life could be worse, so why not choose to be happy. It's a conscious effort at first but soon you won't even give it a thought. Another thing I've learned was that it's not important what others think about you. It's how you feel about yourself, so love yourself for who and what you are, which is a unique and valuable human being. Which no one can take from you unless you let them.

I thought that this was for site support not moral support. Like problems with the site. And no I am not one of them. I dont know if many people are going to see your thread Ryo

I'm going to go on the record and say that I highly, and I do emphasize on the "highly" part, disagree with you. Though you have some good advice and I know my struggles aren't as bad as others. But just because I'm autistic, even if it's only mildly, I am still a human being. I still have a soul, love feel emotions and even cry. Ask yourself have you been in a psych hospital? Did you grow up in South Boston during the time of Whitey Bulger and the turf wars? I may be younger than you, but that doesn't mean that I have no experiance. I have been used as peoples punching bag and toy to play with for a long time. And I'm here to say no more. You can destory an entire planet, and exterminate entire populations of people, but you'll never destroy what I am. I am a son of Odin, and even through death my soul and my spirit will live on for all of eternity. Sometimes words can hurt a lot more than punches.

As far as the whole, "you decide to become offended." Well that's a freedom you or anyone else can never take away from me. Though I am a man of honor and passion, do not assume that I cannot be provoked. 'Cause like the song says, "Forked tounges in bitter mouths can drive a man to bleed from inside out."

This is true, but keep in mind that you have never walked an inch in my shoes neither. So how do you expect me to sympathize with you when your not going to meet me half way?

I know what's best for me and quite frankly it doesn't matter what you or anyone else says.

I'm not looking for sympathy. Life can be a struggle, you just have to try to always "stay on top of your game". I'm only human I'm not perfect, I sometimes hurt other peoples feelings and sometimes allow my feeling to be hurt. But in the big picture I move past them, and I choose to be happy.

True this is. This is not about you and this is not about me. This is about bringing awareness that mental and emotional health is just as important as physical and any other kind of health. And those who say "grow a pair and kick them to the curb," and "stop playing the victim" to those who struggle mentally and emotionally have no honor and no courage. I think what Vegan Joe might be getting at with the "until you decide to become offended" part is that, after reading something stupid that someone said to you on the internet, you can either take it to heart, or say "That's just some jackass in his mom's basement talking shit on the internet" and ignore it. When online, people filter so much less than when speaking in person, so their stupidity tends to come out in full force. It's probably best not to take them seriously.

Even with all the medication and therapy, it's still going to take conscious personal effort to stabilize ones mental and emotional health.

Yea 'cause I know for a fact that they wouldn't have the guts to say shit like that in real life. If you ever go on [url]retrojunk.com[/url] or hang out with people in the anime fan community, you'll know what I'm talking about. What's sad, but kind of funny is that they call themselves Otakus. They act like it's a way of describing themselves like goth, punker or something, but in Japan it's actually a negative meaning. Urban dictionary sums it up as, "Otaku is a Japanese word for house. As in you never leave it." What's even more suprising is that I know several of these people who do indeed pay their own bills, have jobs, etc. As someone who is a big fan of anime, animation, comics, etc I know what it's like to be outcasted as not cool for liking that stuff. However these, "otaku, nerds, fanboy/fangirls," or whatever have their own little cliques like those who like japanese dub english sub anime only, or english dub only, marvel comics only, dc comics only, etc. So they form cliques and exclude people despite the fact that they are excluded by pretty much everyone else in the world. So it's not always the steriotypical "living in his mom's basement type." I actually am still living at home while I attend school and although it's a real pain in the ass I have to once again quote transformers when I say, "no sacrifice no victory."
