Fallen_Horse
"This study for the first time shows that fasted training is more potent than fed training to facilitate adaptations in muscle and to improve whole-body glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity during hyper-caloric fat-rich diet." I read a lot of stuff like this, but the way this article was worded, I could barely understand it haha. I get the idea though. How long should you be fasting? Or should you just be hungry o.O
Fallen_Horse
How long should you be fasting? Or should you just be hungry o.O The abstract doesn't say specifically, but the news article suggested the participants had slept overnight and then exercised after they woke up in the morning, so probably an 8-10 hour 'fast'. Vegan Joe
Basically the article is saying that if you've been eating a crappy, heavy fat diet, then fasting before a workout will benefit you more in the area of reducing weight or progressing towards diabetes than if you ate a doughnut before working out. endcruelty
i've read for years workouts in the morning are better anyways, maybe now without eating they're even better. and honestly, who's gonna go to work/school for 8 hours without eating then hit the gym? no one
