I just wanted to right that I do not enjoy situations like this thread.

I think thread is valid and expresses real concerns. I don't enjoy talk about banning people and I don't enjoy criticizing people. I don't see anyway around it given the potentially harmful and the persistent nature of the misinformation posted here. I don't have a magic answer that will everyone happy and not hurt anyone's feelings. I just wanted to say that.

You don't gotta be condescending by feeding me the google/wikipedia pages. Of course its not going to be listed on the wikipedia page.

Jupiter has an internal energy source -- a very large energy source. - http://www.grandunification.com/hypertext/Jupiter.html

Even if I am yoyo-ing like you say...am I talking crap?

You can't measure Wisdom with a device. A "Wisdom meter" doesn't exist. An energy meter is astrology but astrology is used wrong by astrologers by trying to predict the future; the constructive way to use astrology is to understand that energy needs to be burnt so it can transform into constructive energy. Thats why we feel great the day after exercising. Use it, recovery, collect.

I have Wisdom. Other people have different energies that I do not have. Most gay people have the energy of Venus(Love). Dominant types have the energy of Mars(Sex)...ever seen a dominant female..cheryl cole is known as the dominant type in the bedroom as an example. And so forth with the energies of other planets in our solar system.

Ok man, this is not good. I am not trying to be rude or hurtful or anything, but this is not a good path that you are on.

Firstly, there is no such thing as a 'ball of light.' Light does not form balls, and very many of the statements on that website are simply incorrect according to what we already know about the universe.

Secondly, astrology is simply not a science. Not in any way.

I take it this thread is fairly representative of the quality across this forum? If so, yes, you need better moderation.

It isn't a question of rights. The banjos are still free to post their nonsense online. The community has the right not to give them a platform. The problems are compounded if the banjo is unable to determine the significance of their opinion. Rather than putting it out there once for discussion they decide it merits debate on every thread.

If someone is unable to play nice with the other children maybe they need some time on the naughty step to think about what they've done. Maybe a banning order doesn't have to be permanent.

I seem to remember veganpotter was banned not for an outrageous offence but for the overall health of the community. From the outside it seems in worse shape now than then, but maybe I'm wrong there.

Yeah I agree also. Many of the regular users from back then are gone which is a shame, including losing potter, because it's not like he just posted arguments and attacks 100% of the time, it had just become too regular. When he wasn't involved in those conflicts, his contributions were really good. Potter wasn't banned for one specific outrageous incident, rather he was regularly attacking people, or posting replies to other posts which seemed out of proportion, even if he was right in what he was saying, it was often put across in an overly aggressive / argumentative way.

Just a question, do the 811ers on here know about 30bananasaday.com? I think they have a pretty active forum? If this forum doesn't fit your lifestyle I would think that one would? Not telling anyone to leave, just saying.

Lol, I remember when some guy at the health food store was telling my husband and I about that... smile and nod, smile and nod... be open minded and try not to assume it's a gay porn site.

He never told me why he stopped eating 30 bananas a day though.

I kind of feel like it's the crazies that drive people away, but maybe I'm off base with that.

This is why I am leaving, so you can't be that far off.

When I first found this forum I really liked it. It seemed very friendly and it inspired me to start lifting weights and show everyone around me that vegans can be strong. But, I don't like coming here anymore because it seems most of the active members have been brainwashed by a quack chiropractor that pretends to be a nutritionist.

I'm sure there are a lot of people that feel the same as I do about this place. The worst part about it though, is that some people probably come here a few times, get some dangerous advice and become ill, then give up on veganism because it didn't work. Or, even worse, someone could die.

I'm going to join veganfitness.net and hopefully I like that place as much as I used to like this forum.

It's only a few people here that went that route, but they tend to be the most vocal of the bunch, turning everything ranging from "What's a good leg training routine?" to "What's your favorite restaurant?" into something that they feel compelled to steer toward whatever they think is the 'only' way to eat/live.

It's too bad, I hate to see anyone else go, but the good news is that I'm seeing less of the quackery lately. Perhaps some of them are finally getting the message that if people WANT to know about 80/10/10, they'll ask about it, it isn't at all necessary to preach the gospel of their diet to everyone here at every chance. It's long overdue that they stop pushing it with cult-like ferocity and understand that this isn't a recruiting ground, some of us don't want to learn about a diet that we don't have any desire to eat by.

who is this?

doug graham.

Don't think the occasional crazy bouncing around this forum would make me leave this forum, a lack of atmosphere and social dynamics would though.

If it was only occasional I wouldn't be a problem. But, some of the most active people on this forum are those fruitloops with the 811, b12 is a lie, protein is a myth, the government is trying to poison everyone, only eat fruit and your body will heal itself garbage. Allowing that to go on here only serves to undermine the entire purpose of this forum.

Whenever someone tries to push that 811 bullshit online they need to be called out if only to make it clear that it is something all together different than veganism.

Haha, I like the concept of someone trying to argue that protein is a myth.

goob, sorry you feel that way and I understand. I get frustrated too - and I've taken time away because of this kind of thing, and others. But I'm around now and trying to keep an eye on everything. I personally do not want this forum to be seen as a place where people can just spout lies with no back up. I'm all for people being allowed to put forward what they want, but I don't like to see people using a forum as a place to get across their own personal agenda, across multiple threads. If somebody has some theory that they want to share, it should go in a thread on its own. But to go through other threads and keep bringing it up, when it causes conflict everywhere, I don't think it's fair and I can see how it puts people off. So I want to try and stop that happening, and will do so if I see it, and if it's brought to my attention.
