Made the executive decision not to train today. Just wasn't quite feeling up to snuff.

well I don't know how much sense this will make if you don't follow Canadian politics....but essentially the biggest douche bag EVER was elected Prime Minister...with a majority government, which means we are stuck with him for 5 years! Good-bye health care and justice system, hello major deficit.

Seriously, look at this guy, I just want to punch him.

Who voted for this idiot???

I don't know anything about him - just checked wiki...looks like he won by a landslide, wow 75%?!
I don't believe our beloved Ronald Reagan even received that much in his hallmark landslide victory.

Anyway, looks like the majority of the population backs Harper...sorry you feel different...

Anyway, hope you are feeling better soon & can hit the gym with a renewed vigor! I had to take a couple of weeks off recently as well...it can be the pits - especially when you are making good progress.

Uh...I'm not sure where you got that 75% number from, but it's wrong. The Conservative party won 167 seats out of a possible 308, which is only 54%.

Thanks for the well wishes though. :)

Unless you are talking about the Conservative leadership vote? But that was just to see who the leader of that political party would be. Not to see who would be the Canadian Prime Minister.

He does look unwholesome. That's an ugly tie too.

05/09/11:

Finally went back to the gym today. Thought I was feeling okay but once I started working out I noticed how tired/lethargic I felt. Oh well.
Still coughing lots and my lungs don't feel right. I'm sure that will sort itself out.

2x10x125
1x10x115
2x10x95

The sets of 10 were really rough.

Front Squats:
3x8x55

Think I'm finally getting the hang of front squats, will up the weight next time.

Assisted Chins: (40 lbs assistance)

2

That was all I had in me.

Lunch:
salad with mixed greens, chickpeas, carrot dressing
2 apples

Dinner:
eggplant and chickpea curry
steamed chard
2 mangoes

Well hold that thought until you hear about my crappy workout today!

05/10/11:

AM:
5 x 0.5 miles - 90 second recovery between

Wow this SUCKED. Was okay for the first two, but then I started to feel pretty lethargic. The last two sprints were my regular running pace, not really sprints, and even those were difficult to finish. After the workout I felt pretty crummy for a couple of hours.

Super lame. I thought I was more recovered than that. Oh well, I'll keep on trucking.

Lunch:
salad with mixed greens, chickpeas, hummus, carrot dressing
2 apples

Snack:
carrots and hummus

Dinner:
masala tofu
roasted cauliflower
steamed chart
watermelon

05/11/11:

OHP Day - Wave C

Oh wow, really brutal DOMS in my quads from squats on Monday.

Couldn't do my usual warm up as my quads were in PAIN so I jogged for 5 min. on treadmill and then did some dynamic stuff to warm up my shoulders.

OHP:
2x5x45
1x3x45
1x5x55
1x3x65
1x2x75
3x10x55 (had to push press the last 3 reps on the third set here)
2x10x45

Did stuff to work out my quads in between sets

Assisted Chins (40 lbs assistance)
3
3
2

Farmer Walks
2 sets with 50 lb dumbbells

Will roll out/stretch my quads again before bed this evening. I have a pretty funny walk going on today.

Lunch:
huge salad with mixed greens, cauliflower, carrot, chickpeas, hummus, and hot sauce
2 apples

Dinner:
Thai tofu
daikon 'noodles' with broccoli and bok choy
watermelon
