Looking to move - Where should I go?

I've been on the road for the past 2 years, living out of my suitcase. I've had a few stints in some areas including 6 weeks in DC, 4 weeks in Orlando, 15 weeks in Los Angeles, 10 weeks in Portland and about the same for Corvallis, but all the other dozens of weeks over the past 2 years I've been on the road.

I go town to town, festival to festival and live out of my suitcase(s) and/or my Prius.

It suits me well, pun intended, but I'm honestly kinda getting tired of being around a lot of obnoxious people at coffee shops in order to get online, and not having things like an office or even just a printer can hinder of some of my progress.

So, I'm looking to move somewhere.

Where should I go?

I love the sun, love quiet places, enjoy being isolated, away from a lot of other people.

Yes, you are free to tell me to, "Go to hell."

I'm honestly leaning toward Austin, TX and in fact I'm online looking up apartments in Austin right now.

In addition to Austin, I'm also looking at these general areas:

South Florida, Southern California, Texas, Las Vegas-area, Arizona, Mexico and the Caribbean. My top priority is a place that is very quiet so I can work without being bothered and the sun and overall warmth is equally important to me.

If I work hard enough, I can start paying rent again soon.

Let me know what suggestions you have for me.

Thanks!

Yes, come to Austin. We are the epicenter of Physical Culture and have a damn good vegan community to boot! Hell, sublet an apartment here for 3 months and try it out. I can almost guarantee you will love it!

And if you live in the right part of town, especially southwest near the hill country, it's very peaceful.

Wow, I could use that scene to write my next book! What a great backdrop. I used to live in the Caribbean so I'm anxious to get back there! Yeah, being in Texas I'll be close by. Eventually I'll also live in the Caribbean again for a period of time, perhaps even in another year or two.

Thanks for posting this!

As for the question about Austin places to go, I'll follow up soon. I realize you arrive soon but I'll have some updates for you when I get a chance to ask around.

Everyone should live in Las Vegas at least once in their life! it's quite an experience!

I told you before Vegas is booming with vegans recently, and we have a lot of festivals here because of the nice weather. I live in the west by Red Rock and I love it here. Steve Wynn went vegan and the Wynn Casino has vegan options at every restaurant. Lots of Vegan restaurants too. You should consider it on your way to Austin TX! Let me know if you want any help

I'll be passing through Vegas (for fun, I know it's not totally on the way from where I'll be heading) in a little over a month!

I've enjoyed Vegas visits and thought about living there for a brief period.

I never stay anywhere longer than 6 months, so who knows, I could end up there one of these days too.

Like I said, I never stay any place longer than 6 months. That's just how I roll. I have a unique desire to always change, which is what I do for work, my writing, my interests, bodybuilding or not, where I live, etc.

Always changing. Never know where I'll end up.

I may have mentioned in my first post, but recent places have included:

Portland and Corvallis, OR, Orlando, DC, Los Angeles, and significant stays in Maryland, Texas, Tennessee and a few other places.

I've been in Vegas since 98' except for an 8 month move to Eugene OR which was absolute Heaven! I loved it there, but before that I was like you always moving around, couldn't stay longer than a year anywhere! I lived in an RV for about a year camping at all the state parks along the Calif and Oregon coast. Then i lived on a boat for about a year living at harbors. Sometimes I'd just get in my car and go! But now I live in a big house that needs constant attention, landscaping and cleaning.....funny how things change!

I hope I can catch you when your in Vegas, I've been trying to get my husband interested in body building as he's kinda skinny. He recently went full blown vegan after seeing the video for the Veg News Men's Vegan in Vegas event. http://vegansinvegas.com/ Now he's like the Vegan Police LOL! After 10 years struggling with being vegan and having a non vegan family I was thrilled to say the least. As funny as this may sound I'd also like to get my sons interested in body building too. I have 3 boys and one girl, my boys seem to be getting kinda chunky lately. My youngest son (7yrs) was born vegan, the older one (22yrs) struggles but leans toward vegan food, and the oldest boy (25yrs) dabbles with vegan food but I think he wants to go vegan too. I guess it's wishful motherly thinking that if they got to meet someone like you they might be inspired to commit to being vegan and get in shape.

Anyway have fun on your travels and your always welcome to crash here we have lots of room
