Green smoothies

banana bread smoothie:

 

very ripe bananans, i like mine almost completely brown, add a couple frozen bananas for a creamier texture

water

coconut milk

coconut oil

cinnamon - i like lots

vanilla flavored protein powder

spinach

himalayan salt

chlorella/spirulina

honey or dates

other super foods would be nice too like maca... etc

 

I was obsessed with this smoothie all summer, i liked adding ice to it then

I cant live out my smoothies, 1-2 liters a day!

My breakfast every morning since a year or so is a green smoothie.

 

I vary it from time to time.

 

First i add some fruit:

 

mostly bananas or oranges

 

and then some greens:

 

celery, fennel, spinach, or wild herbs.

 

fruit and greens in a 1:1 ratio

 

and then i add

 

1 tsp spirulina

some ginger (the more the better , love that stuff )

and water

 

 

but as i said i vary alot, and sometimes put in some dates, kale, cacao beans, carob, pomegranate seeds etc.

 

Thats another thing i love about smoothies you can do so much with them.

We just made one last night from Victoria Boutenko's collection, and it was great (assuming you like the flavor of beets)!

 

Beet-y Recipe

7 beet greens (leaves from the stems of beets)

1 banana

1 cup grapes

Blend with water and ice, then drink!

 

 

Another good one was:

7 leaves collards

1 banana

1 tbsp ginger

1 pear

2 cups blueberries

Blend with water and ice, then drink!
