Nutritional needs for women bodybuilders

#16 Postby itsjustrobbieok » Thu Dec 29, 2011 5:34 pm

As vegansludge said, its not about being male/female but you as an individual. Workout the number of calories you need to maintain your weight then add on 200. Weighing and calculating your food is boring - but ensuring you get your protein requirements and not over (or under) eating will see you gain with the best muscle/fat ratio. Regular consistent weigh in's allow you to check that you're on track. As soon as you stop gaining - eat more.

Bodybuilding is nowhere near as complicated as people make out!

Why not post up your lifting routine on here too? :)
You say obsessed; I say dedicated.

My diet is under adjustment due to me realizing I can't consume any soy except in ezekiel bread for some odd reason. So it is a matter of experimenting with recipes to see what is fast and easy for me and wont' break the bank. I have started a lifting journal and am trying to post what I eat too. Not real happy with my diet but it is a work in progress as am I.

I would look for a diet based on weight/height, I am only 50 kilos and there is NO WAY I could eat the full suggested meal plans...luckily for me my trainer is pro vegan (although not vegan himself, yet) and will help advise me on whats right for me.

If you are looking for a female tailored diet for other reasons, there are a lot of great vegan fitness bloggers out there who regularly share recipes and tips.
