Zen's 2012 training journal

Happy New Year!
After dealing for years with what was recently diagnosed as auto immune issues/hypothyroid, I'm aiming at cutting overall body fat and destroying this abdominal fat that has creeped up from hypothyroid. I'd love to really add some lean muscle mass this year as well. I'm 39 years old and I became a vegetarian at the age of fourteen for ethical reasons but have been vegan mostly ever since. I'm a full time Insurance agent ,recently became a Team Beachbody Coach and I'm studying to get my personal trainers certification. I like to bite off more then I can chew at times so I really need to stay focused and get things prioritized this year. Get grounded and live with purpose.

Day 1 of my journal.
It's a rest day for me. But here's what my training schedule looks like doing P90x.
Day 1 – Chest, Shoulders and Triceps, Ab Ripper X
Day 2- Plyometrics
Day 3 – Back and Biceps, Ab Ripper X
Day 4 – Yoga X
Day 5 – Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X
Day 6 – Kenpo X
Day 7 – Rest or X Stretch

Quinoa stuffed red bell pepper, with spinach,sun dried tomatoes,corn,pine nuts, marinara

Carrots, hummus & banana

Grilled veggie tacos, and spanish style quinoa

* Shake with strawberries, blueberries, black cherries (great for inflamation) Chocolate Sun Warrior, almond milk
* Steel cut oats, chia seeds,blueberries , sun warrior
* Indian curried chick peas with spinach
* Banana and tangelos
* Tempeh Stir fry & veggies and quinoa "fried rice" with cabbage, carrot, peas and onion
* Minimum 3 liters h20

* Veggie burger patty, 3 c spinach, quinoa "fried rice"
* Protein shake

No workout today , not feeling 100%. Hoping to feel better by tonight so I can try to workout.

Rest day today, may do some Yoga. Start P90x2 tomorrow.

Meals
Green smoothie ( organic spinach, pineapple, green apple , banana)
Roasted root veggies, chick peas , artichokes and sun dried tomatoes
Ginger blast juice ( apple , ginger and lemon)
Quinoa, spinach , chick peas


Making a batch of raw garlic bread today! Should be fun!

*Quinoa pasta with marinara, and salad

* Soaked steel cut oats with almond milk and sun warrior
* Gluten free "pizza" made with brown rice tortillas as crust and organic marinara, mushrooms ,spinach garlic

Green smoothie 36 oz- spinach, pear, ginger , spirulina , water
Salad- greens, kidney beans,mushrooms,peas,broc,tomatoes,jalapenos ,sun flower seeds , balsamic vineger
Plain Baked potato

P90X2-Power and Balance

Meals
Fresh ginger, apple and pear juice
Detox tea
Green smoothie with spinach, ginger, apple, pear and spirulina
Salad with lentils, kidney beans, olives, tomatoes, greens, sun flower seeds, avocado , nutritional yeast and crushed chili sauce
Roasted root veggies and black been soup

Woke up with a slight sore throte, not sure if it's something coming on or allergies. So lots of detox tea, ginger, lemon ceyanne tea

Hot detox tea, and green smoothie with spinach, tangelos, banana and Sun Warrior Ormus greens
More detox tea, another green smoothie
Black bean soup and green smoothie
Dehydrated Kale, turnip and rutabega chips
Coming down with some sort of upper respiratory thing so drinking lots of detox tea and green smoothies, not much of an appetite today.

Training- Taking a rest day due to a pinched nerve/spasm in my back

meals-
Pear, apple,ginger juice
Potato salad (red potatoes,celery, peas, carrots, dill and veganaise) and spinach, lentils and roasted veggies
Green smoothie with spinach, pinapple, spirulina and probiotics
Grilled tempeh and salad
Sun warrior shake
