OliverFlynn Posted February 16, 2012 Share Posted February 16, 2012 I have just started training and have finally received my protein powder in the mail and was wondering what the best way to take it is. My main question is whether taking the powder with water is better, or if I am better of taking it with rice milk and getting the extra carbs that are in the milk. I am have a slender build and am looking to put on a little weight, but mainly stay lean and gain strength. Any tips would be very appreciated! Thanks! I have soy powder, and I find the best way to get a nice consistency is to put all the powder in, then just put a little water in and whisk it so it is like a thick paste, then add the rest of the fluid. Otherwise it can be grainy, especially if you are putting anything else in with it. I don't know what others would say, but I think that the carbs you'd get from milk aren't going to be that high (unless you put lots in).
