Jay_Raz
Greetings, After being inspired by a Ted.com talk, I have decided to eat Vegan for 30 days. As I write this I am at the end of Day 10. I feel really good and my stomach has now adjusted to eating Soy. Here is the link for the Ted.com talk: I have always had an efficient metabolism. Efficient as in I can build muscle very easily and my body is *unfortunately* easily able to conserve energy as body fat. So it isn't a fast metabolism by any means except for the rate I can repair and build muscle. I believe I could survive out in the wild on the same amount of calories longer than most. This doesn't help in these modern times and is real pain in the ass to get cut. My energy levels are better than before especially when trail running. I ate fairly healthy before with minimal processed foods. So the transition wasn't hard at all except for my stomach being gassy for the first 5 days. I don't really weight train that much, just mostly body weight exercises in super sets. Ex: Pull ups right into push ups and followed by body squats, then rest till heart rate lowers and then repeat. I'll also trail run, mountain bike, and hit the heavy bag. I used to go very heavy, but those days are behind me. I started lifting at a fat 205 lbs the summer before freshman year of high school. By end of freshman year I was able to max bench 225lb and had dropped down to 180 or so with help of playing football. at 20 years old I was able to max bench 405lbs while weighing in around 195 *i think*. Herniated a disc in my back from getting a drink out of the fridge *No stretching all those years*, landed a long term relationship, and a computer job. Before you know it I blew up to 255lbs without exercising but not really eating any differently than those around me. That is thing, I can't eat like other people or I'll gain weight. Whatever, I'm also more muscular than most and it has led me to living a healthy lifestyle that I'll take the grave. So this is the first time trying a Vegan lifestyle. I should had taken a pic on Day 1, not sure why I didn't. I have noticed a difference in body already and look forward to seeing where this leads me. C.O.
Cool, I'm going to check out ted.com today. Did you make it all 30 days without cheating? How has your diet been since. Its funny, its almost like when a smoker tries to quick smoking trying to give up animal products. I'm still working at it myself. Welcome to the forum, -Dylan
