Target sodium for cutting?

my trainer told me to have as much added salt as i want. im eating clean foods but i add my own sea salt. he said there is too much hype about salt and water weight, and that it only makes a small difference and thati only need to cut it out one day from my contest...ive dropped 20 lbs eating all the salt i want...hes a natural pro who has placed first many times..and if i couldnt add salt to my food i would have gone insane psychologically, and phsysically he said you need plenty of it anyway.
