Favourite Vegan Meal Out?

#1 Postby mattpb » Thu Jul 05, 2012 8:28 pm

Hi Everyone,

I currently work in the kitchen of a restaurant and in the near future i would like to open my open Vegan Cafe. I wanted to know what are your favourite meals when eating out?
Also if you have any ideas or suggestions?

Thank You

Mattpb

A local restaurant here with a lot of vegan options makes a delicious burger out of chickpeas, rice, and spices served on a whole wheat bun with a lemon-tahini dressing. Yum.

I also love anything I can dip into a sauce, felafel, pizza, and any cold vegan dessert, like ice cream or vegan froyo.

I'm too skilled of a cook to ever eat out. But one of the things I always remembered about restaurants when I was a little kid was how they only offered those giant desserts at the end of the meal. All you really need is one bite of something great but your choices are Giant Cake, Giant Brownie Sundae, or Giant Slice of Pie. It would be so cool to have a waiter come around at the end of the meal with a platter of bite-sized vegan goodies, like truffles, dried fruit squares, coconut balls, stuffed dates, etc. People could pick one as the perfect finish to a culinary adventure. You could incorporate it into the price of meals: Comes with soup, salad, or steamed veggies and a selection from our Vegan Bite-Sized Dessert Platter.

I love pizza, must be one of my favourite foods. I think we are lacking a good vegan pizza place near us as all we seem to get is a few veggies thrown on a pizza base. I like the sound of a pizza using curry sauce. Awesome ideas, thanks
