Opponents of Proposition 37 claim it would create a costly bureaucracy and lead to frivolous lawsuits. Total contributions to defeat the measure amount to $25 million.

And GMO labeling would help how? 99% of consumers will still buy the cheapest product, no matter who makes it or if it's GMO. You can't fix an ignorant society with legislation. :/

Prop 37 is backed by the people of CA. If they want to know then they have the right to know.
