How did you tear your pec mate? How long has it taken you to recover from that? The bruising you get from those injuries can be pretty major sometimes aye. Take care benching, light stretching in between sets would probably help as well btw.

i did it in, 2010 about august time. i did my pb for bench and my left pec felt a bit weird, like tight but not sore. the next day i went to the gym and thought id do a light set of bench to warm it up and loosen it off bad idea! from then on it just hurt like hell and i had to have 2.5 months off work and couldnt even use my left hand to eat. physio said it was about to snap from where it joins to my upper arm. i did no more weights really til about december 2011, i started benching empty bar at home a few times a week kept doing that till about august this year and started to increase the weight. not cycling much now due to winter so doing weights instead. and all is going well so far, plenty of warm up and recovery (train it once a week, learnt my lesson  ) and i think itll be ok! yeh light stretching has helped alot i doit a few times a day every day. :)

Deadlift, only chalk:
6x380 lbs

not easy, but not a struggle.

Well, the bit of chalk helps with the max effort sets. My grip is pretty good over/under, but I'd really prefer to get my hook grip up to par. I can probably pull heavy singles between 300 and 400 with it, but not more than 1-2 reps at best.

Yeah, I use chalk from 400 and up, anything under that I don't use anything. Belt goes on after 330, but that's just to help create more intra-abdominal pressure over anything else.

I've seen people lifting 135 with straps on, there's something quite wrong with that ?!

Yeah, I feel bad for those people, but often they don't know any better. Usually when I see an obvious rookie in the gym trying to do barbell compound lifts I can't help myself but offer some tips.

Don't slight yourself, man! That's good weight to be throwing around! I guarantee most average people wouldn't be able to do it.
