Hi my friends
I am thinking of taking creatine, want to start as soon as possible.
Althought, I have heard that creatine, for women, increases the liquids retention on the body. Is that true?
Thanks
dani

Yep it makes your body retain water but no nasty side effects, I suppose it all depends on your goals whether or not it is right for you or not :)

Water retention isn't the case for me. It actually makes me leaner and gives me pumps when I lift

I would do more of your own personal research but this may be an interesting read on the subject: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/buffmother1.htm

I also used it in the past before I was vegan. Back in the days we only had creatine monohydrate which wasn't a very good supplement. Nowadays you do have great creatine supplements and it's also added in a lot of other supplements (pre-workout, post-workout, etc.).

I won't buy a creatine supplement, but if it's added in a supplement I would take for the other benefits, I take it as a plus!

I've never noticed any difference either way with Creatine.

Creatine mono kicks ass, especially if you lift heavy. It shouldn't cause water retention unless its cheaply made. It definitely helps gains in strength. If you can lift more, for the same number of reps as before, you will grow more.

The whole science of creatine hydrate is that is has one- mono- water molecule -hydrate- attached to it. Almost all of the studies done on creatine are done with creatine monohydrate. When you stop supplementing with it, the water goes away (my friend lost 9 pounds of water weight after a huge bulk).

Other creatine supplements like hydrochloride or ethyl Esther don't have this "problem" of water retention
