Raw Vegan Muscle Bodybuilding

#1 Postby yepes » Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:56 am

I've seen some people who claim to be raw vegan eating no protein powder and have BBer bodies but I just don't buy it. Here is an exaple http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IlgWnwg ... w&index=14
I don't think this is possible and it's just a commercial to sell the DVD.

here is a pdf with the diet of one of these guys http://www.2shared.com/document/CavQbj7 ... _sale.html

what do you think

I don't think they have bber bodies in this video, they are not enormous and have a lot of fat on there muscles as i can see. They are just normal guys who train, for me, no problem.

still these guys have better bodies than 95% of people in the gym used to go to. when I try to go 100% raw I lose tons of weight.

In theory it would be possible, just very hard to do. You would have to eat A LOT of food like tofu, tempeh and other bean and nut related foods. I choose not to make more of a hassle of my protein intake, so I use protein powders. Why shouldn't I? ;)

I think it would be an interesting experiment/study to run, comparing vegan bodybuilders who take protein powder and those that do not.(or wouldn't take any for awhile)

I'm currently transitioning to a raw diet, so this issue interests me.
I think it would be important not to overtrain. Basically train only enough to stimulate muscle growth, and then get adequate recovery. I'm also wondering if perhaps there might be a different way to train as well; something more natural and relative to how ancient man used to exercise/etc.
I'll be experimenting when I get comfortable with my diet.

I think it could be possible, I have no real reason to doubt.

I'm sure it's pretty tough but this type of diet and training is quite fascinating to me, takes veganism to a whole further level.

you look great in the avatar! have you poster your diet?

as for the raw diet, the more I go raw the more I lose weight but I haven't done the maths on the pdf calories so maybe it's feasible.
