One arm chin ups whaaaaaaa??? Did you call the Mrs. into the room to watch? haha I did when I discovered I could do one-arm pushups! hahaha!

Butterfly keeper sounds like a peaceful job man, I'm jealous. Also, what are those pike pushups?

Aw man I think you misread/misunderstood me.. I wish I could do one arm pull-ups ahha, this is training towards being able to do one :( it's gonna be a long road hahaha, I think once I can do 7 or 8 with mostly one arm and with a few fingers on my other hand il try negative one arms and the. Go from there :)

But yeah the job sounds cool, I would rather get the first job I applied for as a tree climbing assistant www.goodleaf.co.uk <--- but I haven't heard from them so I'm not too hopeful :(

Just got back from a week away in Tenerife! The food was great! Loads of local fruit and veg, also Tomma, an ex forum member here lives out in tenerife and gave me some tips and advice with eating so it was all good!
Didn't train at all, other than a little bit of swimming and a few push-ups here and there before breakfast!
I had every intention of training today but...
Our taxi driver from the airport didn't turn up... So we had to get an hour long train through the middle of London just to get another 3 hour train to Portsmouth and then wait two hours for the 5am ferry back to the Isle of Wight... Oh and then another half hour taxi home ahha! So I got home at 7am this morning and slept for about 4 hours... Been traveling since 4pm yesterday.. Back to work tomorrow and then maybe train afterwards! Will catch up with everyone soon :)

I bet you had a great time over there, I liked the selfie I saw with you and your missus(?) in the background.

I can imagine the fruit and veges would be so fresh over there. Jealous!

Yep that's Charlotte my other half, got another photo here but it's not a great one of us haha, haven't got round to uploading all the photos I took. There's also a beautiful photo of the Isle of Wight which we flew over on our way to Tenerife :)

I'm gonna do an upper body pull/push workout shortly so will update my journal later :)

First training in a long time today! Pleased with what I did but not overally impressed with myself haha

I started off great but deteriorated pretty quick... I blame the Aussie pull ups for shredding my arms into oblivion..

1:10 rest in between sets, same rest time between exercises

Chin ups, chest to bar!
X 5 reps
X 5 reps
X 5 reps
X 3 reps
If you look back through my earlier journal entries you might notice I was doing significantly more reps and sets of pull up variations.. The truth is that I've realised that I've never done them properly, but now I do. I always go all the way up to my chest and all the way down to dead hang with my legs crossed behind me.

Aussie pull ups
X 15 reps
X 15 reps
X 15 reps
X 15 reps! Killerrrr

Push ups, at this point I felt totally crushed..
X 20 reps
X 20 reps
Wide grip
X 10 reps
X 10 reps

Dips x 10 reps
X 10 reps
X 10 reps
X 10 reps.

That's it for today. I want to train Thursday , and I'm thinking of working In deadlift day for some overall strength and some leg work, but il see how I feel :)

Dude, always difficult to get back into it after a few days off. Probably why I hardly ever give myself proper rest - too painful to return haha! Glad you had fun on your trip man, that photo from the plane is ridiculous! You love those Aussie pullups mate, and yeah they are killer. Full chin up/pull ups are killer too. I realized I was doing mine wrong as well, for not having done all the way down to straight arms. Just like you, I went from being able to do 15, to 10 haha!

People are being advised not to go outside and to avoid strenuous activity especially outside... I would say deadlifting was strenuous hahaha

So I'm gonna put together a chest, tri amd abs workout amd see what happens

Hahaha went for indoor exercise bud :p working tonight and have a meeting inside of a pub afterwards so it's not all bad baha!

Push workout!
I really don't feel as strong as I used to... And I consistently feel a bit sick after training.. It's starting to really bother me. Anyways

30 second rest between exercises
Cycle 1:
Wide grip push ups x 10 reps
Close grip push ups x 10 reps
Decline push ups x 8 reps
Pike push ups x 10 reps
Ab crunches x 25 reps
Dips x 8 reps

Cycle 2:
Wide grip push ups x 10 reps
Close grip push ups x 10 reps
Decline push ups x 8 reps
Pike push ups x 10 reps
Ab crunches x 25 reps
Dips x 8 reps

Cycle 3:
Wide grip push ups x 10 reps
Close grip push ups x 10 reps
Decline push ups x 8 reps
Pike push ups x 10 reps
Ab crunches x 25 reps
Dips x 8 reps

Failure cycle:
Dips to failure x 20 reps, chest was screaming after this haha
Tricep dips to failure x 25 reps
Incline doorway push ups x 15 reps
You may be wondering what the hell these are, and tbh I don't know the real name, it's just something I did in my hotel room on holiday whilst waiting to use the shower haha. Hard to explain. It I basically lean into the doorway with a hand on either side of the frame at an angle and push myself up, doing it basically standing is nice and easy and then you can put your feet further back to make it tougher, great tricep pump after a hard workout :)

Sick how? Dizzy? Nauseous? Are you still training on an empty stomach? I could never train that way, as I would always feel a bit queasy doing so. I also wonder whether you've actually lost strength, or your muscles just "forgot" how to train a little bit. Didn't you say you took some time off? Maybe you've got a bit of rust on the ol' pecs!! haha..

Could also be your breathing. Are you focusing on proper breathing? I tend to forget to breathe while doing those pike pushups, and I always feel like dogshit right after.

Those doorway pushups can be a good way to build up single arm pushup strength. The further your feet are away from the door, the closer you are to a one armed pushup, no? I bet you'll be back in top form soon enough mate.

Wish I had a meeting in the pub!!!

I'm not sure mate.. I ate before yesterday's workout but still felt sick :/
I'm always good with my breathing, taekwondo is heavily focused on bodyweight training and proper breathing so I've had plenty of training in that respect :)

Ahha yeah I did a few one armed, it's really handy because it's still tough but you have plenty of balance!
