I fell off the ball big time.

After I started school three weeks ago, I just lost track of my diet and exercise little by little until I realized I felt like crap. Because the school I attend offers little to no veg-friendly foods, I usually bring in stuff to nuke.

Anyway, no choice left but to get back on and keep my balance as best as I can... because continuing to eat and function the way I do is totally not an option.

I will face one thing realistically -- I won't make enough progress to win the Spring Shape Up contest. So now it's just a contest between myself and I. :smt026

That is the only contest that matters :D :D

I think since I haven't made any drastic changes for the Spring Shape-Up that maybe I can do the Summer Shape-Up Challenge instead.

Sounds like a plan to me.

I know I'm a little late in posting about results. I actually have to head out soon, but I wanted to leave the before and after photo that I think inspires me the most. It's not a lot of difference between the two, but enough to make a difference in me.

Now that I have set hours for school and studying, I can go back to focusing on improving my body.

Beginning Stats, April 1, 2006
Weight: 185 lbs.
Chest: 38"
Arms: 14"
Waist: 38"
Hips: 43"
Thighs: 23.5"

Finishing Stats, June 24, 2006
Weight: 192.5 lbs
Chest: 38.5"
Arms: 14.5"
Waist: 38"
Hips: 43"
Thighs: 24"

Pos/Neg
- I gained weight.
+ I gained muscle mass.
+ A lot of my clothes fit nicely.
+ It takes me less than five minutes, as opposed to the former 15 to 20 it used to take me, to catch my breath.
- I've had a lot of bad days, self-esteem wise.
+ I'm ready for the Summer Shape-Up Challenge.

boy that is great, definately see a difference. Well on your way. If that is the progress that you made while out of schedule, then you are going to do great now that your schedule is back to normal. :D

Good job

I just saw this log for the first time, awesome, i love reading it. You have a great attitude towards it, and your method of keeping track of the progress and making a list of positives and goals is fantastic.
I'm sure you'll reach your goals that way!
(Just make sure you enjoy the road also. As Buddha put it: "There is no way to happiness. Happiness IS the way." ;) )

Peace,

I'm glad you enjoy it. :)
I plan on keeping it up to date more frequently this time around.
Thanks for the quote; it's very good advice.

I've lost track in the worst way, but I'm back on it. Splenda, my wonderful little ratty friend, passed away. She was only with me for a brief period of time, but in that time she touched my heart. I'll miss her.

With school and life on my back, I just lost track of myself. My wonderful boyfriend was awesome and generous enough to get me a gym membership. I took a yoga class yesterday, and it kicked my butt! I feel so sore and wonderful today lol!
I've decided that I'm not going to focus on size 6 110 lbs. bikini body goals. I'll be happy enough to get to 160 lbs. at this point. It sucks to be one of the few vegans of size that I know, but it won't be the case forever.

Anyway, I wanted to share a photo. It's not a whole lot of difference, but I feel that something about me is different.

Do i see that right, you've been 235 and now you're 191?
I think that's still great. You should never only see your goal but also what you have already achieved.
Good to hear that you're bacl on track! That's the only way to reach any goal: to keep trying after every fall back. :)

Awesome job! You are inspiring many....including myself. I'm getting back on track so I can still consider myself a bodybuilder.

Great work, and keep it up! You've got a great resource for info here and a what looks like a great supporting cast as well.

All the best,
