Today I started the bench press program that SeaSiren linked to
http://www.eas.com/training/benchpress/index.asp

I also worked my shoulders, chest and triceps

I've been slacking for the last few days.
My dad and uncles are retired and in town visiting.
A small family reunion.
I'm suprised how well the BBQs have been, everybody is supportive of my vegan lifestyle
But sadly everybody else eats the typical BBQ meals.

The saddest moment was when my 12 year old cousin was served her chicken.
She looked so happy, big eyes, big smile and clapping her hands together.

We walked Phipps Park Saturday morning.
I should have some incredible pictures in the next couple weeks.
We will be making a trip to the Beartooth Pass near Yellowstone Park

Today was chest, shoulder, tricep day.
Workout #5 of the benchpress program
New PB on the bench, I finally broke 200#
The last set of the program calls for a 1/2 rep. (or to failure)
I think it took about 10 seconds, but I got 205# back on the rack.
I didn't try a second rep

Today was Back, Biceps and Forearms.

Tomorrow will be Abs, Waist and Legs

I've only been doing 2 exercises so far for the middle
Crunches and DB Side Bend with 40#
I picked a couple that would be easy with what I have
Maybe I'll add others from exrx.net

Saturday - July 02
I tried a Bench, Shoulder and Tricep workout yesterday.
It was horrible workout, I had trouble on the bench 20# less than my 1RM. Shaky arms, barely finished 2 reps.
I couldn't come close to completing the EAS Bench Program Workout so I gave up for the day.
I had been eating Vegan junk food for a couple days. I'll blame it on that.
We went on a trip and I didn't pack my normal good food.
I'll go at this workout again on Monday.
I'm back on fruits, veggies and Vega.

Sunday - July 03
Today was Back, Biceps and Forearms
Had a good workout

Tuesday - July 4th
Took today as a rest day. Maybe a bad idea.

I don't lift as much weight as most guys here.
But I routinely pick up 120# off the floor for my shrugs
Today a 20-30# carpet shampoo machine took me out.
It's a compact Rug Doctor, a little bigger than a vacuum cleaner.
I picked it up to take it out of my van, and OUCH!
My back is really sore right now, hopefully it won't last too long.
Right in the middle of the back along the spine.

Wednesday - July 5
My back is still a little sore, I'll take another rest day.
It doesn't hurt all the time, just if I twist the spine.
Hopefully it will be better tomorrow.
What a stupid way to hurt yourself.

My back is better now, that Rug Doctor took me out for a couple days.

Friday - July 07
Back, Biceps and Forearms today.
I've had a sore left forearm for over a week now.
It feels like maybe the Wrist Flexor for the ring finger.

Saturday - July 08
Went for a hike at Phipps Park

I've heard people talking so much about the Captain of Crush Grippers.
I ordered a #1 (140 lbs) tonight. Hopefully I can close it.

Today was Bench, Shoulders and Triceps.

A new Personal Best on the bench with 210#
It was an ugly lift, my left arm went up faster than my right.
Still couldn't get 215 back up to the rack.
I'm hoping for 225 by the end of the program

Thursday - July 13
Today was Back, Biceps and Forearms

This nagging pain in my left forearm really peaked today.
I think I will need to take it easy for a while on anything involving the arms.
Hopefully it will get better soon, I'm already missing the weights.
I guess this will be a good time to shed some fat.
