Monday - July 17

Another light weight day for back, biceps, but no forearms.

I could really feel it in the left forearm durning biceps.

 

Tuesday - July 18

Should have been an abs and legs day, but I tried the bench again.

Added a little more weight this time

Warmed up with 20# and 40# Dumbbells

135 x 10

155 x 10

165 x 10

no triceps or shoulders this morning, I have to go to work, maybe tonight.

Still pain in the left forearm, it will be a light workout.

I am now able to make a tight fist with barely noticable pain.

Wednesday - July 19

Took this day off

 

Thursday - July 20

Another light day only back and biceps, no forearms

 

I picked up a pair of 20kg/45lb plates.

I'm going to add deadlifts.

I've never done any except for lifting my bar for shrugs

Need to start light for my first try, I don't want to get really sore.

Saturday - July 22

I woke up with sore Pecs today.

That's a good thing since I think I finally figured out the correct way to bench.

Well at least to isolate the pecs as much as possible.

 

I also did a few deadlifts for the first time.

Started with a 45 on each end, that seemed easy.

So I added another 45 to each end, that was a lot harder

I figured 100kg/225lb might be too much to use for a first timer.

The last thing I need to do is hurt myself.

 

I'll start my workouts at 45 on each end and see where I go from there.

I need to make sure I get the proper form, I would really hate to screw up my back

I only did a few small workouts this last week

Still trying to get my left forearm better.

 

Saturday - July 29

Went for a climb up the hill at Phipps Park.

It's been really hot here the last couple weeks.

I got done with the climb at 9:00 at it was already 82 degrees.

Today is supposed to be our last day over 100.

 

I also did my chest, shoulder, tricep workout.

I'm happy with my new bench workout, today I did 5x10 sets at 100 lbs.

These were easy so I'm sure I won't be sore from them.

So it must be time to increase the weight, just need to keep proper form.

Hopefully I can get back to where I was in a short time.

Thursday - August 3

Today was Back, Bicep and Forearms

I didn't do forearms because I could still feel the pain during biceps

I made a new tracking graph for bench and biceps, next will be for my newly started deadlifts.

 

I orderd a Devil's Advocate gripper the other day. Should be here early next week.

Looking forward to trying this!

My Ivanko Super Gripper finally arrived today.

I did 7 sets of 10 in each hand, alternating between hands.

When done my hands were aching, almost like a cramp.

 

This gripper is nice with the adjustable springs.

I don't know if the extra money for the knurled grips are worth it.

Oh well, that's the version that I bought and I like them.

 

Time to quit typing and start squeezing.

Saturday - August 12

I did my chest, shoulder, tricep workout.

Today I decided to try my 1 RM bench press again.

I was able to slowly get 210 back up but 215 didn't make it back up to the rack.

210 pounds isn't an improvement, but I'm happy with that since my forearm has been affecting my workouts.

I still have't been able to close my CoC #1 yet.

But I am a couple mm closer.

My new Ivanko Supergripper has been making my hands and arms ache. (in a good way)

I try to do at least 5 sets of 10 with each hand.

Also holding them closed as long as I can.

I've noticed that I do need a few more days rest after gripping.

If I take less than 3 days rest, I can't do nearly as many reps.

I'll try burning them only once a week from now on.

Friday - Aug, 25

Abs, waist, legs day

 

Saturday - Aug, 26

 

Today was back, bicep, forearm day.

Since my forearms are still sore, I just did a little light squeezing on the SuperGripper.

I decided to try my 1RM on the biceps. No improvement from early July.

That's OK since my forearms are still keeping me from hard arm work.

Sunday - August 27

 

Bench, Shoulders, Tricep day.

I was barely able to get 190 back up on the rack.

Yesterday was also a very weak day lifting for me.

I have been eating too much vegan junk food and not enough raw lately.

Chips and hummus have been my weakness since I discovered hummus.

So back to more raw for me again. I don't know why I just don't stay more raw.

Saturday - Sept, 9

 

Big milestone for me today on the bench. I got 2 new personal bests.

220 was my first new PB. Followed a couple minutes later by 225

225 is 2x45 on each end of the bar.

My goal was 225 by the end of Sept, got there 3 weeks early.

Bench, Shoulders, Triceps

 

I haven't been able to complete the reps on the EAS Bench Program the last 2 workouts.

So I'll go back to my old workout for 3 weeks and then restart the program.

A little change is good.

Added 15 pounds to my 1RM in 4 weeks, just like the first time I did the program.
