Thanks for the kind words CN! :D

Lots to blog about & little time to blog... We had a fun trip to Seattle to celebrate Lotus's graduation. While there, we checked out as much of the the city as time permitted including such vegan hot spots as Mighty-O donuts, Side Car for Pigs Peace vegan store, Flowers (I think thats what its called...) vegan buffet, the Last White Elephant thrift store, Hillside Quickies & Vegan Garden. We met up with Robert & Liz as they were returning from Vancouver to Portland & shared a meal with them at Vegan Garden.

More to come!

Howdy All,
Some of ya'll may be curious as to why Lotus & I have been fairly inactive here over the past month. Basically it's a combination of being very busy (more so than usual), our trip to Seattle & some computer problems. Right now, it looks like the computer problems are going to keep us offline at home for at least a couple of weeks. Even once we get online again it is unlikely that we will generally be as active here as we have been in the past but we'll be around as much as time permits. :D

Lotus & I now have 24 Hour fitness center memberships - YAY! Lotus is far more motivated & educated on fitness related issues than I. She inspires me & is awesome in so many ways! :D

Anyway, here's the main reason for this post - I need help! For so many reasons, I want/need to get in better physical condition & I need help breaking bad mental & physical habits that have gotten in my way in the past. I generally respond best to positive peer pressure - esp. face to face but help on here is great too. I'll post more later on all of this later but please contact me directly if yr up for helping me get more mentally focused & physically fit! :D

I've now had my first work-out at the gym. I did a Pilates class with Lotus - this was quite a workout & left me sore in some spots for several days. I also wandered around confused about how to use many of the machines & such. I'll read up on stuff here & in books but I do a lot better with a person who can help me get started...

Okay, some day we need to move to the same end of the country. So, here's the plan, I win the lottery(need to buy a ticket first), then I pay off my babys' mama to move Oregon. After that, you're all set with a weight lifting partner and hiking buddies. How does that sound? :?

Sounds great Michael! :D

Ya'll coming out here would be great. While I struggle with constant urges to travel &/or move (it's really hard on me right now with summer coming to it's end), I really dont see us leaving Cascadia permanently. I have a particularly hard time seeing us leave the Left half of N. America - unless maybe we moved to anouther country... How do you feel about Costa Rica? New Zealand? The south of France?

If we ever did move east of the big river, Pittsburgh is the #1 city we've considered. Ya'll being there is definitely a serious plus for us! All that said, there's a decent chance we'll make it out yr way for a visit in the next year or 2... How's 2008 look for ya'll coming out for VV? What can I do to make it more probable?

2008 VV is looking pretty good! With the Rainbow Gathering being in Wyoming, we'll already be most of the way there, so we would have to work really hard to find an excuse not to make it the rest of the way out to Oregon.

Awesome! Please keep me posted on Gathering info. I'm pretty much out of the loop but would love to go next year - Wyoming seems a lot more doable for us than Texass was.

Looks like a regional heading your way next week...

Howdy Folks,

Welcome Home to the Oregon gathering in the Ochoco National Forest from September 11, 2007 until September 23, 2007. Seed camp begins September 6, 2007.
For more information, contact:

or call 240-863-6250 or email mountainspirit@yahoogroups.com.

Where the Ochoco Gathering in Oregon will Be.
The 2007 Rainbow Gathering is in Ochoco National Forest at a place called Indian Prarie in central Oregon. (between Prineville and Mitchell)
From Prineville:
Take hwy 26 east towards Mitchell. Make a right turn onto hwy 23,(this road is not marked, but is the next two lane paved road after the reservoir, a few miles out of town, to the right) which later turns into hwy 22 and continues to Walton Lake. Soon after the lake, turn left onto FS 150, a dirt road. Go a little ways till 150 ends in a T. Go right onto FS 2630, and continue to the parking lot and Bus Village.

From Mitchell:
Take hwy 26 west towards Prineville. A little ways past the Bandit Springs rest area, go left onto FS 2630. This later becomes FS 2210, and 2630 becomes a less maintained road. Follow FS 2210 to hwy 22. Turn left onto hwy 22 and follow past Walton Lake. Soon after the lake, turn left onto FS 150, a dirt road. Go a little ways till 150 ends in a T. Go right onto FS 2630, and continue to the parking lot and Bus Village.

More map details

This is right near the Bridge Creek Wilderness area, and north of the Big Summit Prarie. I can see several springs on the map. Sortof behind the site is the Mt. Pisgah Lookout. It looks to be no more than 6000-6500 feet in altitude.
