  1. Hey Sportsfreunde, I was reading around a bit and actually it confused me. A while ago I read that before bedtime it´s good to get some proteins, maybe a shake or something, so that the body can build up muscle tissue. I also want to get rid of bodyfat, and the information I found was somehow going into the opposite direction. The way I understood it is that to lose fat you need a negative calorie intake during the day and have to give the body a chance to use fat to get energy. If you keep a high carb level during the day, you´re always releasing insulin which helps to store fat and since the body has always carbs, it has enough enery anyway and doesn´t need to burn fat. So the text said that you shouldn´t eat anything anymore after training or activity in the evening. I work late evening, so if I would cut out carbs then and just drink water and go to bed after it, it should be good to lose fat. But what about the proteins? A shake would also deliver energy and burning fat would be prevented. How important is protein at night? Is it enogh to get your protein during the day and cut out the evening shake? The anabol window after training around midday will be taken. Have a great one! Avi
  2. Heyya, for how long are you living on 1800 calories? Do you still have enough energy for everything or do you need more sleep now? When I tried to reduce the calories to 1700-1800 I felt more tired.

  5. Hey everyone, how are you? I´m very new to bodybuilding and fitness. Since I started to live vegan and with it way more healthier, I also changed more and more things. Before that day in October 2007 I didn´t really care about my lifestyle. So I hung around at my computer, went to Burger King etc. and managed to pack some bodyfat with it which brought me to 106kg. I should have done some sports, but you know....tomorrow I´ll start for sure...or the day after.. Since I take care about my nutrition I lost almost 30kg of it now not following a special diet, just leaving away fastfood etc. I stopped smoking, started to do some things like walking or more hiking and became more fit and healthier. Step by step I changed things in my life. The hiking became faster and I ended up walking 10km far. I needed some change, also because it did cost more and more time. I also need a new challenge, some change again so I started some weightlifting at my moms practicing rooms. She´s physiotherapist, but the devices there aren´t made for bodybuilding and I also didn´t know if I do things right or if I damage anything in my body. So I decided to go to the gym and do it correctly which is one month back now. They checked me, gave me a training plan which is pretty cool so a start was pretty easy. The goal now is to finally get rid of all the last unnecessary bodyfat and build up some muscles. Doesn´t need to look like Dexter Jackson, but a sixpack, well formed chest and strong arms would be great. I have no clue how long it will take, but I won´t stop until I´m there. I read and thought around a bit and realized it´s more than just pushing some weights. It´s also knowing the body better than before, like valueing it. That´s also something I would like to get from bodybuilding, developing my mind, something like cooperating with my body and not just taking it for granted that it works. I demand, but I also give it back. Hope it makes sense My training started slowly with 2 sets and 12 reps of different exercises focussing legs, arms and tummy plus 30 mins cardio. I brought it up to 50 minutes but I´m focussing on going to the gym every second day and I read in a magazine that it´s not good to have too much cardio. 4x30 mins is enough which covers my week. I just listen to it and do it. Now I´m doing 3 sets 12 reps and also increased the weight a bit, so it´s going into the right direction. It´s quite of a bit of way though, but isn´t the way also part of the goal? Hope to find lots of interesting people and infos here Have a great one! Avi
