  1. Some cool recipes there, can't wait to try! thanks!
  2. How would these two items be for a basic 5x5 setup? http://www.fitnessgiant.com/st30olyweset.html http://www.walmart.com/ip/Gold-s-Gym-XRS-20-Bench/5280822
  3. Hey guys. Been working out for over a year now at Planet Fitness. If you're a member there you know they just have smith machine and no real free barbell weights. I am having an installer come this weekend and lay down some indoor/outdoor flooring with a pad so it will be workout safe/a bit rubberized feel. At home I just have a dumbbell set up to 45lbs. I am looking to invest into a bench, bar, and weights. I don't think my ceiling is high enough for a power rack but want to get some basics first. I really want to begin the 5x5 program but not sure of the best source to purchase from. I saw a bar + weights on amazon by York for about $500 but I think that's too expensive. Any recommendations?
  4. Seems a lot of people favor dead lifts, squats, etc. Will check some youtuve video for proper dumbbell dead lift technique. As to the splits may try that out as well. Thanks for your suggestions!
  5. I do this 3x a week, every other day. I definitely feel I'm always getting stronger but am I going about it the right way? I don't want to spend more than 3 days a week at the gym but am there about 1.5-2 hours when I go. This is what I do every time in order (generally): Dumbbell Curls 3 8-12 (Hammer then Supine) Bench Press 4 2-12 (depending on weight) (weights go 155, 175, 185, 200 for max out) Bench Press Incline 2 5-8 Bench Press Decline 2 5-8 Smith Machine Shrugs with barbell 3 10-12 Squats 2 10-12 Leg Press 2-3 12 Rows 2-3 12 either Pull Ups/Dips or Rope pull downs and pull ups After all that I do some dumbbell circuits Biceps, Triceps, Chest, Shoulders, Forearms Am I doing way too much each time I go to the gym? Would I see the same gain if I did this 2x a week instead of 3? I don't really have an overall idea or goal for a physique, just like to work out. Also I am new, glad to be here!
  6. I've not even scraped the surface of the knowledge on this forum yet but from what I've seen I'm very excited to soak up everything I can! Just a little about myself.. I'm a vegetarian (2 years this month).. I know.. just haven't given up cheese yet (sad). I ran my first marathon in October of this year and go to the gym every other day where I mainly work chest, triceps, biceps, quads, calves, and whatever else I feel like doing. I've been using NitroFusion for a few months but going to try the PlantFusion next. I typically make a shake with a banana, unsweetened original almond milk, spirulina, peanut butter, and the protein powder. Aside from working out I like to read and watch movies, and of course RUN. Anyways, glad to have registered and hope to become part of the community. Cheers Tom
